A friend of mine brought a Vapot replica to a game once and the half and half design was ridiculous. Every time someone kicked the ball it looked like there was something wrong with it and it kind of looked egg-shaped. That might be the reason why you found it visually distracting.

they use those balls at powerleagues, i haven't had any problems with them at all, think they're quite cool

Has anyone here used the teamgeist on not a muddy pitch, but a pitch where its starting to get muddy and the mud sticks to it a little? Now the winter months are coming im wondering whether its worth using my teamgeist. I've used it in wet conditions and its gone from being a great ball with fantastic grip to a slippery mess! Just wondering if the mud would have the same effect.

I've used mine in similar conditions to what you're describing... and I cant say its been a "slippery mess" lol well at least no more slippery than the nike T90 aerow we had with us as well. To be honest tho, I really love the feel of that ball when you strike it so I'd use it regardless of the conditions. What makes it great is that regardless of the temperature outside, it never feels rock solid like most balls do when it gets deep into winter.

LOL - I couldn't believe how slippy it got in the rain the other week. I think my problem is i only really use the ball for freestyle. So i really notice when the ball isn't moving right. I was trying to spin the ball a little to do ATW and you just heard a squeak as my boot hit it.

The thing about the Aerow II is that it does have those tiny little grooves that give you a little bit of extra grip. I might just save my Teamgeist for the summer as its a nice ball. Don't want to risk getting any water between the glue. Someone on here had that problem with it after playing with it in the rain.

The WORST balls for going 'frozen' in the winter months are mitre balls i think. And they really grip the mud. Ahhh you gotta love winter!

Glad you got the conditions i was discribing because i confused myself!!!

Does anyone have a picture of the new EPL Hi-Vis ball? I'm assuming they will use a different color this year (I hated last year's yellow and purple one). I have the yellow and blue Aerow (which I love) and I'm looking to see if I like this years. I hope they go yellow and red, it looks awesome. they used it in teh A-League last year.

I was going to ask that question actually!!

They must be starting to use it soon. I actually liked the yellow/purple one from last season. I wonder if they will go back to yellow/blue though. Because they have gone back to using a white/blue(ish) ball like previous seasons? Guess we'll have to wait and see!

They use it from late October through March. I did find this one....http://www.soccer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=1008&pcount=&Product_Id=300842 but this is not the same ball (although it looks cool).

I reckon it could be that yellow/red ball. Although it looks like a bit of a colour clash to me. But i suppose thats meant to be the whole point of it! hahaha!

I always wanted an A-League ball... pretty hard to find here in the states tho. If anyone sees one online, let me know.

i think that it will be the yellow and purple again because nike said that those colors attract to a persons eyes best

the yellow and blue looks better though
and the yellow and red is just cool:cool:

Would you be interseted in parting with one? I have a collection of FIFA Approved balls, maybe we could work a trade or something.

but if you have one of them pm me.

Here you can clearly see the style for the Premier League Aerow II high-vis.

I thought that Nike would have cashed in and changed the colourway!

I just picked up one of their "Primero" balls.

It looks good, but unfortunately was slightly egg shaped so it has to go back for a new one. :(

I will gladly post a review here when we get a chance to kick it around a bit.

Why do people need to bump threads from years ago?

I bumped it because I searched the archives (I am new here), and not wanting to start a duplicate thread about balls (there was one already), I added to this one.

What difference does it make how old this thread is? I am new here.

The guys at Calle emailed me back and explained what might be wrong with the ball. They were prompt in their reply, offered a few solutions and I am trying them out to see if it helps. If it does not, they offered me a no problem exchange.

A consumer can not ask for more than that, they are standing behind their product, helping me out with solutions and backing it with an exchange if it doesn't help.

Right, so as we had a ball thread already as you've just stated, you instead decided to go back to a year-old thread and post in there? Considering the ball-related comments are in there don't you find it a tad odd that rather than just doing what everyone else on this forum does you took it upon yourself to be different and search for an old thread that nobody has read for a year just to state your ball was egged? Common sense? Please?

And as you are new here perhaps it would be an idea to familiarise yourself with the rules and also consider how you've instantly made it obvious you think it's ok to ignore what regulars do and just go on and do your own thing?
