If im playing in the street i just get a cheap ball from sports soccer. Because any case ball you use on concrete is going to get trashed. The only thing you can do is get one of those mitre rubber balls designed for hard surfaces.
On another note, i actually like my teamgeist II now, I think it just needed breaking in a little case wise! I had a kick about last week night with it and it was great. Very grippy with lasers!

Nike Total 90 Omni, my latest addition to Teamgeist II and Mitre Ultimax.

is there a difference between the teamgeist 2 and the europass ball? and which newer ball (any brand) is most like the original teamgeist? after 5 teamgeist 1's, i think its time for a change.

No, there is no difference. It's the same ball with many different designs. 2 MLS designs, 2 Euro 2008 designs, African Cup, 3 Champions League designs, 2008 Olympic Games design, just off the top of my head. It is a fantastic ball, arguably the best out there. Many different colors and designs is just gravy. It is also superior to the original Teamgeist.

I played a full game today with the Nike Total 90 Omni (see pics above) and oh my. I'd definitely rate it above the Mitre Ultimax which is a darn good ball, and on par, or slightly better, than my African Cup Teamgeist II; it's a tough call. Both fly incredibly true and you can get a mad spin on both. I think Nike is a little "foot-friendlier" than Adidas, i.e. a little more forgiving and softer than the TII. But both fly like crazy and are a pleasure to play with. You can't go wrong with either, but--call it a novelty factor--I give a slight edge to Nike.

do you mean softer like more padding on the ball? or do you mean it has more give to it? btw the omni looks so sick

It definitely has a different texture from TII but I wouldn't call it padding. In your hands it feels more "plasticy" than Adidas and it was very slippery when I kicked it around in my living room when compared to TII, but it became irrelevant once I put it on the actual ground and started playing with it. It also feels a little less heavy than TII and that's why perhaps softer but it might just be a factor of how much air is in.
I was very skeptical about buying Nike; I returned an Aerow II ball last year because I thought it looked too cheap to be $120 and went for Mitre instead. The Omni was on sale for $90 on soccer.com and I bit and once I played with it, I rid myself of any doubts. Awesome ball.

would anyone happen to have the Nike Veolci ball? the highest end edition of it is only 80$ and it reminds me of the aerow 1

So do you guys like the omni or the europass/tgII better? They're only about a $10 difference for me on soccer.com and I'm looking to get one of them. I had the aerow II and loved it, but I've played with the europass also and it was pretty damn amazing.
Regarding the veloci...I don't think its any different than the aerow II. correct me if I'm wrong, though. I had the aerow II and it was amazing, so I would assume the veloci is the same...

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a decent ball for just freestyling and practicing freestyling. I would not really be doing anything else but tricks and what not with it, but i was always under the impression that certain footballs were better designed for such activities.
Thoughts?

I have both and it's a toss up. I think ultimately it's a matter of personal preference as both are fantastic. It might as well come down to which design/look you like better. I think the red Omni looks cooler than any of the TII balls, including the Europass and the Champions League editions. I don't know, they look like they would look great on a shelf as collectors items, but IMO they don't look good on the pitch in action. Except, of course, for the African Cup Wawa Aba which I have and love:D. But this one is no longer available, as far as I know.
Both balls perform superbly on the pitch. I personally lean toward the Omni, but use both when I play. Never heard any complaints from the players about either one. The goose-skin texture of the TII will give you a better control and grip when rolling the ball but for long passes and shooting there's hardly any difference. The Omni seems a tad lighter and to fly further but it just might be an illusion, for all I know, after watching all the sick long distance goals from the EPL, La Liga and Serie A that use the Omni balls exclusively. One thing I can vouch for is the durability of the TII. Mine was run over by 3 cars in a row and came out unscathed. I still can't believe it. Hope this helps.

I suggest you to explicitly use the adidas Teamgei2t or Europass (Original non-finale)

I personally like the adidas Europass/Teamgei2t matchballs the best, whilst the Nike balls don't have the lengthy flight of the adidas balls, especially the Hi-Vis (yellow/purple) ones

^^As far as I know, Europass IS Teamgeist II, isn't it? So are all Champions League Final balls and MLS balls. They are all thermally bonded with the textured outer layer, just have different colors and different designs on them, but same technology nonetheless.
Also, the Hi-Vis is the Omni, just like the red and black models, simply designed to be more visible in the winter months. Don't know about all Nike balls, but certainly the Omni has no flight issues, I assure you.:)

there's no problem playing on turf with it right ? i'm not sure i'm gonna play on grass this year, and in the league i usually play, there are a bunch of guys always stealing the nice balls when teams are playing
and my sis is bringing me another ball on sunday

Not sure what exactly you mean by "problem" but your ball is going to get nasty marks in no time on turf. Turf destroys the look of white balls trough the black rubber pellets that leave pretty much permanent black smears on them, especially on smooth surfaces like the Teamgeist that you have. I used to play indoor all winter when I was at grad school and the Teamgeist balls looked especially nasty after a season on turf. Other that that, there will be no "problem."
