Okay, I'm starting a general news thread. This is for stuff that's not really important enough to start a brand new thread (such as the following story), rather than an important transfer or a re-worked contract. Just general stuff, good or bad.
First off: Duff got nailed for going 102 in a 50, after he three times refused to confirm who was driving when it was caught on camera on the A1, including one time when he was ordered to appear at the magistrate's domain and never showed.

Emre issues apology for press attack (http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/tm_headline=emre-says-sorry-after-press-attack%26method=full%26objectid=19789936%26siteid=72703-name_page.html)
Interesting that he's allegedly upset, at least in part, about reports linking him away from SJP. I still think he needs to go, however.

Luque only did it for the money. (http://www.shieldsgazette.com/nufc/I-only-joined-United-for.3221037.jp)
He doesn't sound very intelligent and for that he deserves everything he got on Tyneside.

The only reason I am posting this article (http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2007/10/04/keep-feet-on-the-ground-ace-zog-told-72703-19894763/)is because of Sam's mention of Michael Ricketts.
When I asked Allardyce today if he was pleased N’Zogbia was now making progress at international level, he replied: “Yes, but as long as that doesn’t affect him in the wrong way.
“That can happen to young men when all the other boys start talking to him about this, that and the other. All of a sudden, he’s disgruntled again.
“It can be a good thing, but it can also be a very destructive thing.
“You know, I saw a player play once for England, and now I think he’s now playing at Oldham Athletic. He’s called Michael Ricketts.
“It affected him that badly. He let himself get carried away by the situation, and his career ends up declining.”
I looked up Michael Ricketts on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Ricketts)and found this...
Michael Ricketts then fell out with his manager Sam Allardyce and subsequently did not feature in the team very often.
Basically, he put Bolton into the Prem and then after he got called up for one game, BSA froze him out and the guy lost all his form.

I love how Joey Barton called out Owen yesterday on his England loyalties. Club honors are what matter Micheal.

The only way a player can survive that long in the Prem is if his knowledge of the game is higher than his physical talent ever was. To me, that makes him perfect for a coaching position.

Sam furious at fixture logjam (http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2007/10/13/sam-in-fixture-fury-72703-19945958/)

previously 15th December 2007 - kick off 3:00pm
Sunday 23rd December 2007

I'd take Jozy, but not EJ. Jozy's more powerful and built to handle the English game. EJ's just fast.
On a somewhat related note, I wouldn't mind if our chief scout decided to head over to Heerenveen, if y'know what I'm getting at.

Alaves is going to Real Madrid or are you thinking young Bradley.

Coach Jr., of course. He'll be at a bigger club in a few years if he keeps progressing. I think he's got the mean streak necessary to handle the English game and he's obviously got game. (I wouldn't mind pilfering Barnetta from Leverkusen while we're at it, for the record).

YA is mind numbingly stupid. Oba, Owen, Shola are leaving in the winter transfer window and Viduka is too old to walk anymore so we need EJ right now.
