Well- here's hoping! But the Kiwis will be tough to get over this time, but stranger things have happened.
I'd love to see the Aussies win it again, but we've been in a bit of a rebuilding phase over the last couple of years. I don't think we're as good as we were at the last World Cup, but perhaps we'll sneak up on everybody as they concentrate on New Zealand, South Africa and England.

Well after their last effort- I dont think you'd have to worry about England, unless Johnny can save them by kicking them to victory yet again. ;)

I'm not sure if this will work but my rotten Kiwi (All Black) daughter sent it to me. It's a PDF file worth looking at.

Looks like you need a Juno ID to see it.
*cough -- Go Boks -- cough*

I am watching the France-Ireland match, now. Edgy rugby from both sides but France have been the more intelligent. My word, how disjointed the Irish have been this tournament. Today, their fly-half has been so inconsistent. This is as bad as England were against the Springboks.

*cough -- Go Boks -- cough*Cough, cough is right...:)
I had a feeling Juno wouldn't let it through.
It was an official looking BBC report that someone had "tinkered" with. Like this.
Courtroom Drama Ruling
A 7 year old boy was the centre of a courtroom drama today when he challenged a court ruling on who should have custody of him
A 7 year old boy was the centre of a courtroom drama today when he challenged a court ruling on who should have custody of him
The boy had a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge ordered custody to his aunt.
The boy confirmed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and refused to live there. When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents the boy cried even louder that they beat him more than anyone.
Then, in an unprecedented move, the judge dramatically allowed the boy to choose who should have custody of him.
In a final ruling yesterday, custody was granted to the England rugby team. The boy firmly believes that they are not capable of beating anybody.
“They wouldn’t hurt a fly. I doubt they could even beat Italy, they’re so gentle and kind.”

That definitely made me laugh out loud. Very nice.
Looks like the French have finally arrived, eh? Although, I must say, the red flags have been present for Ireland. Didn't exactly look convincing against Namibia or Georgia. It probably won't please most of you to read it, but I have to pull for the Argies against the Irish next week, if only because the thought of the Boks possibly having to deal with the homeside French in the semis isn't something I'd like to deal with. In fact, I'm pretty sure Jake White has called that his "nightmare scenario."

Don't know whether it was a rerun today, I came in during the second and really enjoyed the game.
OK, me granddad (Dads dad) was from Bangor Wales and worked the slate quarries at Llamberris before joining the army and becoming British army heavyweight champ 1914.
So I could support them.
Me mam’s dad was from Glasgow played football for Everton and Scotland
So I could support them.
I’m a Liverpool boy and I suppose English.
So I could support them.
Got 2 NZ daughters All blacks of course and 4 grandkids.
So I could support them.
A few nieces in Melbourne and Sydney Oz.
So I could support them.
A best friend from apprentice days and the Paras lives just south of Durban South Africa
So I could jump on that wagon and support them.

What is the difference between Rugby League and Rugby Union???
Good question. They do a good job explaining the difference on Wiki.

For me League is a faster game and is generally better to watch. Union is good and when two very skill opponents match up it is superior to any League match around but when two mediocre Union teams play it can be like watching paint dry. Just my opinion.
Hope this helps.

Fair criticism, but when it comes to this discussion, I'm VERY much a Union man. To me, that's real rugby.

I'm a league man, who doesnt mind watching high quality rugby such as internationals or Super 14, but as my wife puts it, lower quality games are "a mess of a game!" :)
I partially watched the Australia - Fiji game last night flicking in between that and the Matildas at the Women's Football World Cup vs Brazil, and although it wasnt the best of games, some of the squad members got a run, and they scored some nice tries to rack up 50.
The crowd looked very good, they seem to be getting good crowds. Good on the Frenchies for going out and supporting the other teams.

Well, didn't think the All Blacks were particularly good against Scotland and may be believing the hype. In the meantime England looked quite solid against Samoa and seem to be on the up. If they can negotiate the danger that is Tonga, I await a match-up against the Wallabies.
As for the league v union debate, I've only been watching league for the last 6 years, living as I do in its heartland, and I'm impressed at how fit and multi-skilled the players are. Pity there ain't no turn-over balls, no rucks, mauls and scums ;)

I thought the ABs were trying to not give to much away particular in backline moves
the public in nz were not to happy with the performance, even do its the biggest winning margin we have had in scotland(apparently) and we didnt concede a point
the bar has been set high..maybe to high again
plus whoever chose the playing strips needs their eyes checked;)

That strip was dreadful. But it was the handling errors by the All Blacks which dismayed me most, not the fact they were holding anything back or that Scotland were a bit overawed by it all.

oh yeah that was pretty bad specially sivivatu
who blew at least 2 tries
still they kept their defence up, so in that sense it was a good workout

Talking of Sivivatu, between him and Rococcoko, who is the first choice left winger?

So, where can I wach some of these matches without Setanta? Any highlight packs or streams? Is the semi-final nationally televised?

going into the wc
Sivivatu was the starting 11 and Joe was 14
for whatever reason howlett has been given a few starts at 14
i think once the QF start up the Joe will go back to 14 and Sivi will stay at 11

Interesting, I'd have thought Howlett was at least as good as the other 2 #, certainly has better handling skills. But the others do have stunning pace, I must admit.
