.. Postgame should not take priority over a live event. In a perfect world, no. But how can you blame CSN for getting the chance for so many rating points (I'm sure I must have meant "people", my bad) to switch channels right after the foreskins game to see the postgame coverage, probably even comes with an ad for CSN on the network broadcast.
Maybe some of these people (upset because the skins lost and wanting to find a team to cheer for) will keep the channel on accidentally and end up enjoying watching United, or hell even just really miss RFK and decide to come see a game :)
I don't mind home games being shown on delay basis at all on the local channels. I'm with Grillmaster.
Good point about the score being shown during the USA/BRA game though - might want to cover the bottom few inches of your screen where the scroll runs - though you know the bastards will probably talk about it too if you go to all that trouble :(

I'm with you on this, GrillMaster. Only teams that sell out every game (Redskins and Red Socks come to mind) should allow live TV of their games in their local area.
For all the rest, it just doesn't make sense.
Some phrase about why pay for it when you can get it for free comes to mind...
This was the way of thinking of Sports owners decades ago, until most of them found out that attendances increased with the more games -- home or away -- that their fan base could see on TV.

I was thinking DC's game was at 1. I'm glad I read this as I'd been thinking I'd have to miss my daughter's game on Sunday. My husband would have been ticked if I'd gotten him there more than 30 seconds before kick off.

No Telefutura here and I may not be able to attend the match.:( It could be WMET and delay for me unless I can find the match online somewhere... Postgame should not take priority over a live event.
TeleFutura has the nationwide live TV rights to this match. The choice is either 1) CSN showing it delayed, or 2) CSN not showing it at all. Which would you prefer?

This match is supposed to be on TeleFutura as well. Is it delayed too or do they have their own feed? They'll be En Vivo.

I'm gonna go with choice #3) CSN show it live.... I wasn't complaining that CSN is going to show the match. I just wish I could watch it live. As I said, there is no Telefutura where I am.

I think he's saying he knows that, he's just dissappointed he can't see it real time.

Exactly.
I didn't realize wishing was so controversial.

What part of he does not have Telefutra don't you understand? :D
What it boils down to is MLS trying to sell us that HDNet and Telefutura is National. In reality they do not exsist in large portions of the country, so that does not count as "National Coverage". :(

Then why complain at/about CSN, though? His complaint wasn't about MLS signing the deal with TF. It was about CSN showing it delayed, after showing NFL postgame content: "Postgame should not take priority over a live event."
CSN actually did us a good thing here.

Yes, but if the local market TV partner decides to broadcast the game, they are allowed to show it live. And they are evidently allowed to change the deal they made with the the local team to take a live broadcast and delay it several hours to show Redskins Post-Game coverage, considering they have no other live local sports to broadcast right now.
Thx,
Jay!

As far as I'm concerned, anyone complaining about CSN's coverage of DC United is crazy. We probably have the best local media coverage (tv, radio, print) of any MLS team.

I was thrilled that they showed it on a delayed basis. It allowed me to record everything I needed to. Redskins, tennis, two rugby matches, golf, USA-Brazil, DCU.
Now I just have to find the time to watch some of it.

CSN have new, big contract with Dan Snyder, so get used to a lot of pre and post game coverage. I can't blame CSN for trying to get any new deals. They've been screwed by Angelos, so their warm weather programming is pretty thin. (Which has been great news for United).
The match looked absolutely awesome in HD at 7 - perfect timing for me after getting back from FedEx!
