I know there was some talk about about creating a club called AFC Metros (it's currently running as a rec team I think ?) and I don't want to rehash an old topic, however there is a very good chance that there could be a Metro related team coming to our area soon. I am apart of a group that is in the process of putting together a team based in Jersey that would play on a professional level. It wouldn't be the MLS of course and it wouldn't be in the USL either. There is a new league that is about to come out that would essentially be 3rd Division soccer and this is where this club would play.

Myself and my partners are going over names at the moment and as of now we are going with Garden State Metros. If nothing on the above poll seems like a good name, let me know some ideas you have. I'd also like to hear everyone's thoughts... good and bad. I know some may feel that this is an attempt to steal away from the history that is already there but I assure you that myself and my partners only want to respect and honor the Metrostars and it's fans.

In any regard, let me know you guys think.... I want this club to represent everyone who stood or played for the hardest fc in the world.

You should join up with all the Cosmos people in this forum and call the new club 20th Century FC.

Good call and I too like the idea of keeping it pure & simple. The FC tag is based on us three owners being from European households and we wanted to add a slight European feel to club but I do dig Metro S.C.

Just as an update, we are going to talk to a few people next month about getting our home stadium. If it all works out, we should have some concrete info on the stadium in the coming weeks/month.

One of the nice perks about our hopeful future site would be having a local pub just around the corner from the stadium. The pub is run by some friends of ours and they gave us a green light to plaster the place with Metro gear and what not, should be a cool place to grab a pint and pre/post match.

How about Empire FC? If not, then I would just stick to Metros FC or something close to that?
