Is it just me or do some of these people have the lamest reasons for getting tattoos? I need Ink to remember my Grandmother/Grandfather, my pet, my eating disorder.

I dont think there is ever a lame reason to get tattoo'd. I think it is a great way to have a constant reminder of something you want to remember or just because you want to express yourself.

No, some tatooes and the reasons behind them are just stupid. Especially for girls who get tatooes on their lower backs or ankles because it's the cool thing to do. Usually it's a flower or some trippy spikey design or a foreign language. Ultimately it's meaningless. I don't mean to insult anyone who does have them but for me it would have to be something so valuable or something so absolutely meaningful that it has been run through hundreds of scenarios - and you are totally convinced that you need it. After all, you have it forever.

Now that's a great example of a complete dummy. It's even on his back where he can't see what he loves so much. How about a different form of expression?

I haven't seen the show, but one of the stars--Kim Saigh--used to work at a place out here in Chicago called Cherrybomb. She did some work for a co-worker of mine that was fantastic. Her partner at Cherrybomb, Patrick, did work for me and my wife. Met her a couple of times. Nice person.

My guess is that the show wouldn't exist if there wasn't a concensus opinion that she's hot. I agree with that opinion, she's fine.

Do you guys know exactly what happened with her in Miami? I stopped watching Miami Ink for whatever reason and one day when I was flipping around, Ami was pissed at Kat. Or maybe the whole thing was staged so she could get her spin-off?

I was watching Dr 90210 on E! the other night and one of the models from Deal or No Deal went in to have her Tramp Stamp removed. Claims they are constantly covering it up with make up is she wears an open back dress or gown. She was luckily a good candidate for laser removal, in that she has fair skin and her tattoo is dark in color. The Plastic Surgeon told her it would be between 5-11 procedures to remove the tattoo on her lower back. After the laser procedure the tattoo was about 50 percent lighter in color, but the doctor told her blisters would develop and she would have to be mindful of infection.
Getting rid of one is significantly more expensive and time consuming than getting one. So please be certain. This case also points to another issue with tattoo's that people change their minds with time. What was once in style and vogue can be passe.

they (ami and kat) butted heads all the time. In ami's opionion, he felt she was trashing his parlor and Miami too often and a lot of the time in front of clients. the firing didn't appear to be staged.
fwiw, i think LA Ink is no where near as interesting to watch as Miami Ink.

even lamer than the Star Wars tattoo, a man with a Zune (yes, the Microsoft Zune) tattoo:

Yeah, I dont think it was staged either. Kat is still young and seemed to be a little ungrateful and unprofessional at times. She once said in front of a shop full of customers and Ami that the shop was terribly ran. I would of fired her on the spot.

I'll never criticize someone else's tat. It means something to them, even if it doesn't to me.
If somebody asked me for advice about getting a tattoo, it's "be certain". It's basically permanent.
I never watched Miami Ink, but I did start watching LA Ink for two reasons: (a) Kat is hot, and (b) I've been thinking about getting some more tattoos. In places that would be visible when wearing normal work attire. I took all my piercings out 7 years ago, and I kinda regret it now (and don't think I can re-pierce my tongue easily).

I prefer Miami Ink as well, but yeah Kat is hot.
My wife and son got me a gift certificate for a tattoo for fathers days since I've wanted one forever. I had to make sure it was ok with work before I did it since I can wear dress casual on Fridays and I usually wear a short sleeve shirt. Getting one on the left and from my elbow to my wrist is quite noticeable.

What are you going to get? I was thinking something along these lines (tribal dragon), on the inside of one of my forearms:

I'd show my kanji tattoo, but my webserver is offline right now.

Very cool. I could see myself doing something similar when I have a child. You should go have Kat do it. :D

That's a terrible tattoo.
No offence.
