Rangers News:
It will be an emotional day at Loftus Road as fans and players mourn Ray Jones.
Ainsworth, Kanyuka, and Walton remain out for the R's. Chris Barker's suspension has ended and he may make his QPR debut. Sahar is back in training and rumor on the .org said he was training with the first team this week. New signing Leigertwood could make his debut.
The Opponent:
Southampton is off to a poor start. Expected to challenge for a play-off place again after losing out to Derby in the play-off semifinals last season, they opened the season at home with a 1-4 loss to Palace. They then crashed out of the League Cup at Peterborough and lost away at Norwich before picking up three points last weekend with a 3-2 home win over Stoke.
They recently acquired Stern John, who might feature. According to the BBC, "Czech playmaker Rudi Skacel is injured. Captain Claus Lundekvam is back in light training following his ankle injury but is not ready to return."
The Series:
QPR leads a very close series, 25-20-24. The clubs first met in the 1920/21 season. Last year, the away team won both games -- Southampton won 2-0 at Loftus Road, we won 2-1 at St. Mary's with Ray Jones scoring the winner. R.I.P., Ray.
FYI, I'll be on the road tomorrow, so don't know if I'll be able to listen live and post updates here.
