Even though I wanted SC to win, I wanted to congratulate
OLIMPIA DE PARAGUAY
for winning the Copa Libertadores. What a fitting way for celebrating your 100 years in futbol.

Their coach Nery Pumpido who played goalie for River Plate, Real Betis Balompie and the Argies national team where he broke a leg during the 86 WC deserves a lot of credit. It was great to see someone beat a Brazilian team!
Saludos y Viva Er EuroBeti Manque Alfonso y Lopera!

What is the history of this club? Who are their top stars? Are the players mainly from Paraguay?

Three time Libertadores champion. Perrenial champion of the Paraguayan league where Cerro Porteņo is the only real competition. In general, an important team in South America but only Paraguayans dream of going there to play. Unlike say Boca, River or Peņarol.
