So it is up against the Swedish in the first match in the UEFA Cup for Mike. I hope they donot line the stands at the rim of the pitch with gorgeous Swedish women, to distract him from his tasks:p

Mike is a destroyer. he has no time for such trinkets as the female race. Omg, I really want to move to Sweden.

Heerenveen has rejected the offer made by AZ Alkmaar to buy Alves. He's not very popular with his team "mates" at the moment. Especially the goalie has expressed strong feelings about Alves behaviour. With the UEFA match less than 3 weeks away and Alves putting on weight by not being in training for weeks I hope the new signing of Heerenveen scores a lot so coach Verbeek has the option to bench Alves.

as much fun as that would be, why would you bench Alves? He's a goal scoring machine and the main reason Heerenveen are in UEFA Cup.
I know he's acting like a prick and his teammates might be pissed at him, but if he's gonna stick around, it would probably be in Heerenveen's best interest to play him. Patch things up with the teammates and move on.
Just my $0.02. I'm not there, afterall.

There was an "if" added:D
AZ eventually bid a whopping 16 million €€, but did so after the deadline stated by Heerenveen, so Alves is ( for the time being) stuck in the Frisian mud.

That's due to my former scouting activities in the Army, I always was far ahead of the troops:p

Heerenveen is going to have to climb a high mountain. The track record this season when it comes to keep the opponent away from the goal isnot promising. Helsingborg has an attacker that really is a threat on par with Alves, the former Feyenoord, Celtic, Barcelona and Manchester United hitman Henrik Larsson. It is up to Mike to be the first line of defense against this guy. One good thing is the fact that Swedish clubs tend to be very defensive so they lean back most of the time. It is now that he can show what he is made of against one of Europe's top gunners.

Still no Alves in sight, but the question if he is fit enough to play against physical fit Swedish is the most important, because if he needs to be replaced it takes out the chance to switch another player if needed.

I think so - I'm going to see if it's on anywhere (had a little lunch window open up.) If anyone has a stream or matchtracker for this handy, remember sharing is caring.

Unfortunately this is the only one I can find (Sopcast) (http://www.myp2p.eu/Matches/Match4.htm) and it isn't working for me. Give it a try maybe it will work for you.
