UEFA Champions League Pool 2007/2008

Here we go again for the new season:
Why don't we start another pool for this year 2007 / 2008 as we did last year, I would also like to thank all those who participated in this thread last year and hope will have them again and hopefully more.

Rank all teams from 1 to 32. 1 being the lowest and 32 being the highest (team winning the whole thing). Accumulate points throughout the season base on how you rank your teams and round value. Whoever has the most points at the end of Champions League season, wins!

Deadline: (one day before 1st game starts)

Scoring System: Each Round will increase in value.

Group Stage = 1 pt for a win 0.5 pt for a draw

Bonus points (3 points) for teams advanced to the Round of 16.

Knockout Round (Winners are determined by aggregate goals scored):
Sweet 16 = 5 pts
quarterfinal = 7 pts
Semi-final = 9 pts
Final 11 pts

For example: If you rank Juventus number 32, they beat Bayern Munchen during Group Stage 1 you earned 32 pts (1 * 32). So on with all your teams.

i understand that some people don't rate celtic but you at least have to place them somewhere...

and picking barcelona twice is just out or order...:p

although i can see how you could get the 2 teams confused as their playing styles and ability are uncannily similar....

I don't understand people who place Sevilla high and Shakhtar low. Sevilla is no better than Shakhtar. Their matches last year showed that.

Partly because of their groups. If Shakhtar and Sevilla switched groups I would rate Shakhtar around #17 and Sevilla about the same (both would be very narrow favorites for one of the first two places IMO, just ever so slightly edging out Steaua and Benefica respectively). Even so I rate Shakhtar as one of the pot 4 teams most likely to cause an upset.
