Quite a few seem to be coming over recently at Morton we have 3 John and Marco Maisano and Lee Robertson, ever heard of them? how do you rate them? They are doing an excellent job in the the lower leagues in Scotland. After a dodgy settling in period they seem to be improving greatly each game. Also i was wondering if Hearts new signing Patrick Kisnorbo is any good. I predict many more will use Scotland as a stepping to the big leagues in Europe.

Australians who aspire to be great football players tend to leave for europe and esspecially when they are young in their teens. Many play little or no NSL games and when they make thier names it is hard to claim them because they haven't played a lot of football in the NSL or in their respective state leagues. Harry Kewell is a classic example. He never played a game of NSL football and yet he is a houshold name in the Football world here in Australia. But it is hard due to the constant drain on Australian football stocks in the NSL.

There have been quite a few NSL players trialling for Scotland clubs this off-season. I think it's a good move. The scottish league is a big step up in quality from our domestic competition, and the players will benefit greatly.

The gap between our domestic NSL and the high profile european leagues where most of our boys dream of playing one day is HUGE. The Scottish league is a great stepping stone to see whether or not they can hack to take that next leap.

Let us know how they're doing! We probably won't get a lot of coverage since our news outlets are more interested in the other football codes.

Apart from the guys you mentioned I know that there's a couple of aussie strikers hoping to get contracts. Danny Invincible at Kilmarnock, and David Zdrilic at Aberdeen.

Well there is Craig Moore for Rangers and Kevin Muscat for rangers. Does he still play for them? Or did he get transfered? Also check out Northern Spirit as they have a large chunk of their squad Scotish.

Oh, i've seen Spirit's scots in action. There was a friendly against Wolves yesterday.

4 nil against... Not a very inspiring performance. Here's hoping that we'll do a bit better with the rest of the first team playing.

John Maisano has had a great start to the season, he has scored a 2 goals in 6 games and is creating plenty of chances, Marco has also been playing well. Morton are top of the 2nd division after 4 games (3 wins and a draw) and this has attracted the biggest crowds outside the SPL. It is also rumoured that John is attracting interest for English first division clubs.

Lee Robertson has since left the club and is now back in Australia.

Kevin Muscat is now at Millwall in the English First Division. David Zdrilic has scored a couple of goals, one of which was against Rangers and playing well.

I'm off to watch Morton play Stranraer in the CIS League Cup tonight and hoping John will continue his great form in midfield.

Rangers and Celtic are too big for the scotish pond, they should join the EPL.
