Sampdoria have stated that talk of a possible summer swoop for Enrico Chiesa is rather premature.

Great history for club, but he's too old and too broken for us now.

31 is not that old!

Its not that young either. Normally you consider the player's prime to be 28-32...so he's got a year left.

Not a great investment, then add the knee injury.

I'd rather Baronio

Baronio already moved to Chievo. I think Chiesa could still be a useful addition to a team like Samp. He's worth a few free kicks goals a year, which can mean the difference between staying up or going down (although, hopefully, Samp won't be in that predicament).

Baronio did move to Chievo. I saw him put on a shooting exhibition last year in Perugia. Cosmi played the kid and he was playing great against Piacenza, so Piacenza fouled him repeatedly and knocked him out with a knee injury.

Chiesa... better to sign younger players at this point.

With all the players they are signing I doubt it, the only way should be that they dont get the coach's idea as a group (given that they are playing together for the first time)

Looks like he's gonna end up at Siena:

No loss for us if you ask me.

You've made that point clear! :D I hope he gets a chance to start this year. He was in incredible form a couple of seasons ago at Fiorentina before he did in his knee. Simply carrying the team on his back. Very unfortunate.

I do try to be clear and concise.

Perugia is having a youth camp in Middlebury, CT.

I want to get Sampdoria to do this next summer.

Siena got a decent striker, they were tracking down Diego Milito from Racing Avellaneda Argentina, brother of the infortunate Gabriel Milito fo real madrid.

Well, so far, Chiesa seems to be doing the business for Siena. Three goals last week (albeit two on PKs, but another perfectly legit one disallowed). By all accounts, one of the top performances of the week.

and Sampdoria can't find the net right now.

Chiesa and Bazzani would be a tough combo.
