looks like we might get the Arce/Martins combo upfront for the next friendly against Peru

I for one am anxious to see how well both play with each other, it could be the begining of great things to come not to mention the rest of the players in our lineup. (Raldes, Alvarez, Garcia, even Moreno)

Well we'll finally see what the Arce & Martins pairing looks like, definitely can't be worse than Cabrera, Castillo, Botero or any of the other guys who've already had a chance. It'll be interesting to see how he & Arce respond to playing at altitude in qualifiers. As we all know and he's admitted himself Moreno has never been able to play up to his potential in La Paz hopefully this isn't something that affects Martins and Arce who are not used to altitude. Interesting that Martins is only 20, 2 years younger than Arce, he has a big upside, and it doesn't hurt that he's listed at between 6'1" - 6'2"
What I wish we had now is a nice young talented legit 10. Sorry all you Vaca lovers but I don't consider Joselito a legitimate national team caliber 10. He's got talent but way too inconsistent, vanishes in big games, and is easily muscled off the ball. Either way I'm excited for the Peru game.

If they are in good shape i dont see why not. Now a guy like limberg gutierrez.... thats a guy i could see gasping for air as a result of playing in la paz, which ironically he was the shit with bolivar while there...

It's not a question of them "gasping" for air due to being in shape, it's a question of how their bodies will react in a serious balls to the wall qualifier game at altitude & not just a friendly. Raldes, Moreno and other players have been in good shape when they went to play qualifiers in La Paz and have not played anywhere near their potential. Eveyones body reacts differently, and I will not be at all surprised to see Moreno not called up if the games are indeed in La Paz. As he's stated, he and Sanchez have talked about qualifiers and Moreno has said it will be a decision based in part on where the games will be. I take that to mean that Moreno and Sanchez don't feel that him playing in La Paz will be the best for either him or Bolivia because of how he knows his body performs at altitude.
It's interesting that you bring up Limberg having a great campaign when he played for Bolivar. That was his club meaning he had no problems with altitude due to having plenty of time to acclimate to the altitude. Moreno, Arce, Martins will have a few days at best for acclimation. If they played for Boliviar or Strongest I wouldn't worry about altitude at all.

Well i'll tell you one thing from personal experience, it isnt as bad as they say, i played full games in la paz when i was younger playing kids on the streets for the hell of it. It's not as bad as people say, if your in shape it still stands you should be ok.
But maybe im one of the lucky ones...

Vaca lovers? I didn't know there were any. I cringe every time he gets near the ball. He's terrible. And I don't know of a nice young talented 10 but I think Moreno could do that job nicely.

THAT is exactly my point, everyones body reacts differently. Yours apparently adaps quite well. Others not so much. I was in La Paz a few years ago with a friend who at the time was a Div 1 collegiate scholarship rower who was beyond great shape and used to maximizing his oxygen intake & efficiency due to non stop all out races. Yet in La Paz he was struggling to breathe from a short 5K light jog. Of course he was ok and even if he was in a real 20K regatta rowing race he would have been ok, but he would not have performed anywhere near his potential. That's my point. Let's hope for all our sakes Arce/Martins and the rest of the new guys don't have trouble adapting. I know from my personal experience that whenever I'm in La Paz i need about a week to feel like i can be 100%.
I'm with you Chico, I literally feel like bashing my head into a wall when I see Vaca wearing Bolivias 10. I hope some young stud comes out of nowhere to claim the 10 but until then I think you're right, Moreno would transition well into that role and feed the forwards.

right now I see Moreno as a better #10 than Vaca, Vaca is too weak IMO. Do you guys think that Sanchez will have two teams, one team that is better adapt to high Altitude and another team that plays away games?
we dont quit have the luxery of having two teams but maybe a combination of players for High Altitude (Gati Riberio, players that play in the Bolivian League) and players such as Raldes, Alvarez.
And for away games we would have players such as Jhasmani campos (he could potentialy be our next #10) Arce, Martins, Moreno.

Like you said Che, we don't have the luxury of fielding two different teams but I do think we'll see some differences between our home team and our away team. I'll try to find the quote from Sanchez, it was right after Copa America (I think it was in El Deber or El Nuevo Dia) but he said that's one of the main reasons he wants to know where our home games will be, because it will affect his decision making on who makes up the starting 11. I take that to mean that if we play in La Paz our starting 11 will be made up of more local league guys who play in altitude all the time. Or perhaps that if someone like Mojica, Nacho, Moreno can't come to La Paz within adequate time to acclimate then a local guy might start instead. I'm just speculating at this point but I'm sure we'll know more once we see newer guys like Arce/Martins/Campos/Mojica play in La Paz in qualifiers and how they respond.

WOW, I am so excited, to see Martins we will see if the hype meets the expectations, on the other topic of a "10", I think we all know deep inside that we don't have a legit "10", don't get me wrong I think Campos is on the way and hopefully he develops during the qualifyers but right now, this very second we are assed out. Other options are nil limbert guiterez is on our list of players never to be called up to NT from copa america along with galindo and reyes lets not forget what happen in venzuela, also if you need a reminder on limberg don't forget ecuador vs bolivia in the olympics he was playing against the u-17 team and couldn't bring it home for us. I never forget nor well I allow my fellow country men to forget that we are bolivans and need an legit "10"

The above is the highlights on the match between Cruzeiro and Corinthians. Since cruzeiro won, they have more of the highlights but there is some good stuff from arce there, crosses, and one attack down the middle with a great move outside the box. Marcelo has great stuff, height, speed and strength. It may take a couple of games for Arce and Marcelo to work together, but for both being forwards they know how to finnish and pass. Their crossing skills i'd say are above than the average forward. I can see this as been a great duo. Let's hope they stay strong and healthy for them to mature together. I'd say give Campos a couple of games too and we have a good trio there. Obviously i'm being more optimistic, but the qualifiers a long and we need some continuity.
I know whe just defended the hell out of playing in La Paz for qualifiers. If our BEST players, play better in santa cruz o cochabamba, why not play there. It's not an advantage when our own players can't play there. And just to play there it's not worth risking the talent and swithching it with local players. Let's face it we're not deep at any position, why risk it more.

Si, en Lima. Parece q va a ser en el Monumental.
Hay esperanzas. Un tecnico joven, ambisioso, peruano q conoce la idiosincracia y la criollada del jugador :) Aunq sea es mejor q Uribe :p

Don't know if it will be televised, I'm hoping to at least find a web stream of the game. I think the list of players called up comes out today we'll see who's on it. I think Sanchez already said Arce and Martins would be called up. They both scored yesterday by the way, Martins had 2 for Cruzeiro and Arce had 1 for Corinthians.

My old man is hooked on watching internet bolivia TV, and he said they are calling moreno up for the friendly.
He just informed me that arce scored for Corinthians with a palomita, and Martins scored 2 goals in the blow out of Cruziero vs. Palmieras 5-0! Check out the highlights, this kid is gonna get picked up to go play abroad. I can feel it.
