IIRC even Liverpool were investing in Norwegian players when we bought Ole. We got quite lucky there.

Baby faced assassin, legend. One of the best natural finishers I've seen. Didn't always do the business when he started, but always did the business when it mattered :)

Gutted. My favorite player won't pull the shirt on again. :-(

Wearing my Ole kit around campus today... Only heard the news from a friend last night and I'm devestated but so happy to have been able to see him play for his whole time with United.

235 matches, 126 goals for us. And how many of those were off the bench...

Great video! I still get chills up and down my spine when I watch him score that final goal in '99.

Just heard the news... I'm in the computer lab at school and I actually have tears welling up.

Absolute legend. I'm completely gutted over this.

Wish I could be at OT this weekend. :(:(

Thank you Ole.

An absolute legend and wonderful player. I will never forget his contributions to United throughout his time here. Very sad day :(

Always one of my favorites and not just because of Barcelona, but simply because he was just a classy player but, more importantly, one who almost always seemed to just take sheer joy in playing the game.

I'm sure someone else posted in this thread -- and I posted somewhere else:

The game needs more Ole Sunnar Solskjaers.

Thank you Ole!

He stated that it wasn't a sad day, because he knew he had done everything he could to fulfill his potential on the pitch, and after that, there's nothing more you can do. He also said that his biggest motivation these past few years when he had been plagued with injury, was to recover so that his son would get to see him on the pitch. He then went on to say that his biggest moment as a footballer was last season when we beat Newcastle 2 - 0, when he saw his son standing and cheering for his goal.(caf)

Ole:( . All i can say is this if Old Trafford is called the Theatre Of Dreams, then you've been a 11 year long dream that came to end, for many who didn't want to wake up. So friend just as many legends in the club, have booked there place in the theatre, I'm sure you'll have the best seat in the house The Stretford End.

I'm sure as many of us here if you ever want a seat not that you need it, you can have mine mate.

OLE OLE OLE OLE!

Not that you need it but put a little extra in it for me.

Hopefully they show his send off on TV here... I'm sure I'll have tears. :(

Nice that you'll get to go, alfie.

Give a shout for all of us. If possible, I'm going to try and make his testimonial, but I doubt there'll be a ticket going at a reasonable rate.

I regret not having him around for some of the younger players who desperately need to learn about loyalty and class.

Not to mention intelligent movement and clinical finishing.
