I've been watching sports on television for 30 years and to this date , the Baby Faced Assassins game winner in '99 was the most excited I have ever been while watching ANY sporting event....Thanks # 20.....

Saturday is going to be the most emotional match of the season by a distance.

If I cant watch that match I might consider suicide.

It hurts, but it was going to happen eventually.
Sad to end like this. Atleast he went out a winner, and even prove some of his doubters wrong with his goal talley last season.

Like Tupac said in his song, Life Goes On. Now we have to go out and get a striker. At least some good should come out of this. I look forward to all the songs dedicated to him on Saturday. I think I'll buy a '99 CL final shirt with his name on it.

oh man absolutely gutted as well - Ole is one of my favorite players and seeing 20 pop up on the subs board was always one of the best sites. My 3 fav Ole memories are prolly:
1) A certain injury time goal
2) First trip to OT, was walking outside the ground to my section by the player carpark and I heard all this noise from people and I turn around and Ole is standing right behind me walking into the ground
3) Went to the Villa FA Cup match last year and saw Ole get his last late time goal to win it for United (as seen above)
Even as a City fan, I have immense respect for Ole.
May he have much luck doing whatever he wants to in retirement.

Well, we knew it. This day had to come. But it still hits you like a truck. :( A great man on and off the pitch. A servant of the club and, in a time when most throw around the word 'legend', he simply epitomized it. wish you godspeed on the rest of your life. /me hails Ole :(

I am very much in shock and sadened. But I am also happy for him in a way because of his tremendous season last year. Not many people gave him hope of appearing for United again being out for so long. Most players would have packed it in but he came back with style and grace. And doing what he did best - scoring goals.
Thanks Ole.

When I checked skysports and read the artical about the baby face assassin, I almost cried and still at this moment have goosebumps. This is very sad but all we have to do is cherish the great moments he gave to us and..... man I dunno im speechless! Farewell Ole Legend

******** man i was going to get his kit then i changed it to Giggs for some reason
******** ******** ********. im going to buy another one i dont care
ill try see if i can scoop another 99 CL one or at least the 99 prem kit or the treble commemorative one
i just feel crushed right now. a true players player. never griped and whined like half these current kids who want transfers or arent happy being subbed off or on the bench. and yes they are kids Ole is a big man to them. he was selfless when it came to this club and its cause. I fully expect to hear Ole Ole Ole and You are my Solskjaer ringing around OT for years
i wouldnt at all be against them retiring #20

I'm going to have to order his kit now.
That was exactly what I was thinking. I just ordered the new one with Scholes. Now I might get the black with Ole's hero customization. I'd prefer a bit of a more classic with his name and number but I need one now.

His final interview - from 10 days ago, when he still was optimistic about playing. :(
Q-n: Do you see yourself playing for any other English team other than United?
Ole: Not really, no. I've bee at United for 12 years and I think in a dream world my last game would be a testimonial for United, after successful season hopefully. :(

Surprised and a bit saddened that it happened so quickly. Must have finally had enough of the injuries. It's sad that after all he went through, the final years of his career were so difficult.
Absolutely fantastic player and an incredible finisher. Yes, he scored that goal, but his career was so very much more than that.
Definitely saddened, but this should be a day to celebrate one of the great players in the history of English football and Manchester United.
Thank you, Ole. Thank you for everything. I would not be the same fan without you.
