Hey, just thought, we have a movie thread, OT thread, Fifa/ProEvo thread, so, why not a book thread?

Over the summer I've been reading some of the Bond novels, Diamonds are Forever and From Russia with Love, along with this one about the 1908 baseball season, Crazy '08.

Just about to finish this:

A great book about communicating to, well, everyone, and making your ideas stick.

I just finished this...it was brilliant. He is, by far, my favorite active writer.

I had already posted this in the History book thread, but I just read Benjamin Weiser's "A Secret Life". Great story of the reality of human espionage.

After hearing we watched Letters from Iwo Jima my father-in-law handed me this:

Hoping to reread The World is Flat before the end of the year, prepping for *sigh* election season.

Your actually gonna re-read that? I dont see why everyone says its such a great book. He could have scrapped about 1/3 of it and still gotten every point he needed across in perfect clarity. Way too many mundane examples.

Last night i finished

His reputation is still living off "From Beirut to Jerusalem", IMHO.

I've read it. It might be the best book on football I've ever read. Really sinks into what Italian football is all about, the good and the bad.

Then I'll move it up the list and get to it after Dennis Lehane. FWIW, aside from Fever Pitch (a favorite for obvious reasons), this was an EXCELLENT football book I read a few years ago:

Ditto. A great read!

I recommend this heartily...
