Since every other board seems to have one, I thought why not one here?
Also, I'm bringing this up in particular to the other CL semi final between the Mancs and Milan which is not looking good for Manchester at the moment.
We could be heading into a rematch of the 2005 game which I should feel comfortable about but Milan has been getting better and better with each game in Europe and are incredibly organized like us.

thanks. Be nice to be able to comment on other games going on that may or may not directly affect us, or just for football's sake.
ESPN/Star's pundit: Even the Milan bench looked better than the Man Utd bench in the first half

you damn right it is.
Tonights game was a perfect example of organization/tactics over individual skill. Not that Milan lacks skill, but their overall game is focused on a tight knit organized unit that works like a well oiled machine. All players compliment each other and their passing game is built around continually unchanged positioning. They pass the ball without looking so they move with tremendous pace even though they aren't neccessarily the quickest players.
Of course, Manchester also suffered from a still out of sorts defense with a Brown/Vidic combination that didn't really have much experience together.
We've got a big task on our hands. Milan were considered the better team by a mile in 2005. Some pundits consider us the favorites this time around but I can't help but feel as though thats just not true because Milan, if thers any team out there that can strategize and read a team like Rafa, can do the exact same thing.

I only saw the first half, and had to turn it off. manure played crap (pun not intended), and Milan thoroughly deserved to go through.

Milan is going to be a tough nut to crack. They were better than us by a mile last time but could only keep it up for 45min. They are a great passing side that doesn't make a lot of mistakes in defense. And they have Seedorf and Kaka! We can still carry the day but if you ask me....Milan are the favorites in Athens. Remember favorites don't always win (see Constantinople for proof)! This is going to be a great final!

It's been almost a perfect 24 hours for Liverpool fans. Knock out Chelsea and reduce Jose to making comments that make him a laughing stock. Get to Athens Final. Get lectured by Man Utd fans on how Liverpool got to the Final by such boring methods and how a team that scored 7 in a match would show us how it is done. I then watch Man Utd get slaughtered in Milan, lol :D Perfect!
Rematch against the Rossoneri. Bring it on!

That game wasn't fair. Milan gave United little time to think about doing anything and United screwed themselves with silly mistakes. They're a good team, but not anywhere near Milan's level. They were fortunate to win the leg at O.T. and never had a shot tonight. 3 weeks should be interesting. Milan is a bit weaker and we're a bunch stronger. If Kaka isn't allowed to run rampant it should be a dogfight.

If Kaka isn't allowed to run rampant it should be a dogfight. What about Seedorf, Pirlo and Gattuso? Milan is a formidable side and they should be favorites. We can still slay mighty Goliath, but it isn't going to be easy.

It was so simple.
Milan just shut down Rooney and Ronaldo and played magnificently organized. Their passing was just so nice and neat.
Ronaldo vs. Gattuso, Gattuso won.
Kaka vs. Carrick, Carrick got beaten horribly.
There were 4-5 guys in the box when the ball came to Seedorf and noone on Seedorf!
Man U's defense was horrible.

It looks like you need a good defensive midfielder or Kaka will rip you apart. We saw that in the first half of Istanbul and Man United saw that in both legs.
Didi slowed him down and now Mascherano will have to do the same.

Bayern did the same using Hargreaves in their first leg.
I think Masch is the perfect man for the job.
Only problem is using him on Kaka will leave Gattuso, Pirlo and Seedorf with a lot of room.

Not too worried about Gattuso. Pirlo is very talented, and Seedorf has hit some type of form. Xabi and the captain can help with them. And then there's Carragher and Agger to help as well, even though they will most likely be looking out for Gilardino.

Do to Kaka what Milan did to the 'skinnier diving Ronaldo fella' in the second leg. Although he's not the whole team- he's v. important to their attack.

The other day someone pointed to this site (http://www.xs4all.nl/~kassiesa/bert/uefa/data/method3/trank2007.html) listing the UEFA club teams coefficient.
it's surprising - to me, at least - to see Bayern's position (especially in relation to Newcastle United no disrespect to them intended)

What are these figures/positions based on? How can Newcastle be above Bayern?

Newcastle I have no idea but Bayern is doing horrible this season. They are having their worst season in some 19 years and overachieved in Europe.

One of the biggest games of this season will be played on May 13th as Sheffield Utd take on Wigan in a relegation battle royale...should be interesting - hopefully we never get to experience this.
If they show it on FSN, I'll be watching.
