Feel free to correct me if I am misunderstanding the situation, but let me try to make some things clear for myself. West Ham got both Tevez and JM through dodgy dealings, because in the real world neither player would look at the Hammers twice. As punishment they were fined a GIGANTIC () 5.5 million, and yet they are now trying to claim the 20-30 million fee for Tevez sale.
Could someone please explain how making a net profit of 24.5 million (not including whatever they get for the JM transfer) is a deterent to other teams doing exactly the same?

The FA are only backing West Ham to cover their own ass. Who knows how FIFA will rule on this.
I just hope this is enough of a distraction for the Mancs to get off to a slow start. It's the Premier League not the FA, Suss.
And, yes, they are covering their own arses but, unfortunately, according to the regs-- backed by HM government who want to make an example of that Persian fella-- West Ham are in pole position. And, yes, hopefully whisky breath gets unfocused. Watch out for Mouninhio, though.

Is anybody paying attention to Bayern? I thought Ribery would end up in Real but Bayern gave 17.5 mil pounds for him - I think it would have been a far better investment than Torres.
Bayern just might have built another German dynasty that will have a thing or two to say in Europe as well. If they don't win Bundesliga, UEFA Cup AND DFB-Pokal, their season could be called a failure - in the very least, der Kaiser will be pissed:D.
I just enjoy watching Ribery play - once he learns some German, he'll be the boss of that team in no time - that's the vibe I got from watching Premiere Pokal.

Oh I've been watching alright :D and its been great so far. There is still a lot to be proven though. Quite a few key players are injured at the moment but management have done a brilliant job transforming this team over the summer.
Ribery is a true gem but so are Klose, Altintop and Jansen. There is double coverage for just about every position and most players can be utilized in 2-3 roles. A lot of preasure is on Bayern but it'll take time for everything to be integrated properly and the League Cup isn't exactly the best of tests.

I've put money on Bayern to do the Bundesliga / Uefa Cup double. Not paying much but a good bet none the less.;)

bayern should meet liverpool in the final...that'll be the most "pressureless" match ever, cause in any case ma team will win:)..was close to happening in the semis in 2005 if munich had beaten chelski..

Exactly :D I've seen about 6 or 7 posters here since I've registered who supported both these clubs. Whats with that?

im probably the biggest deutschland fan in india and it was a natural transition to support bayern cause they fielded the majority of the german players.....i watched munich lose to moan utd at the nou camp in 99-i cried and ever since the bavarian giants are part of my DNA...:)..as for liverpool,
they represent the essence of english football to the hilt and there's no greater pleasure in the world than to listen to the kop belt out "YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE"...strangely i started following the merseyside outfit closely after didi hamann came in(simply love the dude)...in my opinion he won us the cl 2005..

Didi was one of my favorite players in the world when he played for Bayern. I've always admired players with his presence in midfield and such precise passing. I was sad when he left but him moving to Anfield definetley made me a full fledged Liverpool supporter in 2000 when I first started watching the Premiership actively.

I'm surprised Newcastle didn't tickle your fancy, even for a year.

There are some things that are incapable of tickling any one's fancy:D

Not at all. I have a friend who supports Newcastle and he is the most miserable and cynical person I know. I can't imagine having a chat with him about the club....I'd want to jump off a bridge.
I'm glad Didi moved on to bigger and better things after his brief stay there.

Big Sam (if given time) will turn them on their heads, for the better. So he should be excited by the arrival of Mike Ashley and Big Sam.

Right, he'll narrow the pitch at St James and bring in all matter of slightly over the hill thugs to try to ugly the game up and win on set pieces. Should be lovely:D

And if he doesn't, he'll moan even more, lol. I found that in supporting a football club, there is always SOMETHING to complain about. I was cynical like that at first too but that was just my immaturity and I've turned that around to a degree.
I think Allerdyce can certainly turn the team around. There is a lot of quality in that team and Big Sam can keep Barton's temperament in check.

I was trying not to put it in such a blunt and percise manner as you. ;)

Yes there is and more so if you support a big city club, such as that of Liverpool, but no matter how bad things get, always take a moment to think about Leeds.
Don't forget to smile. :p
