Miguel Sabah is eligible to play for both Mexico and Palestine. Our FA is in talks with him and he might join the national team next month but the question is will he opt to wait for the Mexico call-up.Just wanted to ask you guys if the Mexican FA is showing any interest in him.thanks

i doubt he will ever be capped by mexico. he's not even a constant starter for cruz azul.

actually that was two seasons ago your mentioning. last season he had only 6 goals and was being rotated with orozco who i dont think is better than sabah, but is being given a chance because he is younger and has a strong build. two seasons ago is when he scored 10 goals, too many tap-ins goals from this guy in my opinion. he is very limited talent wise which is why he relies in tap-in goals to keep playing, but he has scored some 2 or 3 long range shots.
here are he's stats if you dont believe me. i watched pretty much every game in the mexican league specially cruz azul game's.

Oh yea sorry... 2 seasons ago, but I do recall many BS posters saying he should get a shot with El Tri.. I don't know how good or bad is the palestinian team but I think taking Sabah in there, would be a good asset.

probably the same posters who wanted carlos ochoa to get called to the world cup just because he was doing good at jaguares. same thing with sabah he had an okay first season with cruz azul and people wanted him to start for el tri. i dont like him very much, but i will admit he deserves playing time over the orozco guy who in my opinion is just a young tronco.

ya we noticed his lack of scoring this season, last year he was the talk of our forums(he still is to a certain degree).the thing is we need a prolific striker we already have two but one of them isnt consistent and i guess its definitely worth a shot enlisting sabah

I don't really mind if he went to Palestine. I doubt he will ever get a shot on the Mexico squad so maybe he should take his chances. He is a great player when he is on his game.
On a side note since Palestine isn't an official country how did they manage to let FIFA have a NT? I think I have heard of them rejecting others like Tibet for the same reason

The Palestine FA was established in 1928,i.e. it is one of the first Asian FA's to be formed. This was when the region was a British mandate. It was reformed in 1967 and joined FIFA in 1998.Palestine lacks only independence to be a country as there is a strong national identity and borders of the Palestinian Territories are pretty much outlined and no other FIFA member objects to Palestine's membership(China would be furious if Tibet was recognized by FIFA) so I guess it could be considered a special case among non-official countries

I see. It seems a little unfair from FIFA to other FAs that want to have a NT though. Its sad politics have to plague the game but I guess thats just the reality of things.

Perhaps before ... maybe not now... is just that we have very taleneted players at the forward position... we have Carlos Vela/Giovanni Dos Santos/Nery Castillo/ so I don't think he'll be capped... maybe he'll feature in some Tri games when the europeans can't come.. to me he's an allright striker he's not half bad
