I'd wait and see...I've got a feeling the vote will be very close.

Don't underestimate what has happened today.
We've just commited suicide as a club.

I'd be curious about this as well.
And either way, it's good to see more Everton supporters posting here.

If you mean we committed suicide by deciding to move outside of Liverpool, I disagree.
Kirkby is part of Merseyside and is only 4 miles from Goodison Park.
I would have preferred to see the club modernize Goodison Park myself. But this move to Kirkby seemed to be the only realistic way of getting a new (and lucrative) stadium for the Toffees.

*sigh*
Tima, I'm with you here. IF this goes through, it'll be the death of Everton as we know it. It may only be 4 miles from Goodison, but it's not in LIVERPOOL. Rocket, do you understand the amount of grief we'll get from the RS? The "One city...one football team" banner has already been made and shown at Anfield. The "you're just a small club from Knowsley" chants have been practiced. Kids from the city of Liverpool who come into football in the next 8-10 years will not choose Everton, because it's not in their town. They will choose the shite. We "made" the RS, we're the older, grander club, the Board should have fought tooth and nail to keep our club, the People's Club, in the city in which it was born.
With that said, I'm still hopeful the Loop site works out.
And if you have any doubts that Kirkby is a crap deal (i.e. where's the financing disclosures? Wyness said we might earn UP TO 10m pounds a year at the new stadium...whoop de doo, etc.) then check the Keep Everton In Our City site at www.keioc.net for more info.

[Rant ON]
Just to add more here...
- The club never came up with any other alternative to Kirkby. It was only after the exclusivity period and balloting started that Bestway and the Liverpool City Council scrambled to get their plans out to the fans.
- The club has never once come up with any hard financial information about the Kirkby site. From what I've read, Tesco will "give" us 50m from their 200m budget. 50m is NOT gonna build a stadium.
- The club plan to sell Goodison and sell naming rights to the new stadium. That's all fine and well, but is that going to be enough money to help pay for the stadium?
- Who'll buy Goodison? It's been mentioned that it's a good spot for a car park for the RS's shiny new stadium. Ugh.
- Wyness has stated that a new stadium will bring in UP TO 10m a year for new players, etc. Um, that's UP TO ten million. That's not a hard 10m like some have been saying. With this board it'll probably be closer to 4-5m, which is not really enough to keep up with the big boys.
- The club have stated that there's a 1.4 million "catchment" of fans to reach. Um, yeah, if they're not going to Everton games now, they're not going to go just because we're 4 miles closer.
- Transportation to/from Kirkby is not easy. The club are promoting a "park and ride" shuttle deal....bus in 25,000 people? Yeah, if that doesn't scream clusterfck I don't know what does.
[Rant OFF]
Okay I'm done for now. I'm still hoping the city centre proposed Loop site gives the Kirkby site a run for its money. Bestway and the LCC need to step up their game and get a move on. Everton can NOT leave Liverpool. (IMHO)

I don't realy want you to move away from Liverpool (not deep down in anycase),but why is it nearly 12,000 fans didn't vote in the most important decision your club has had to make since you decided Mr.Houlding was asking too much in rent.
I also think the loop site is just about dead and buried now mainly because those 12,000 didn't bother to vote, the club WILL move forward with the Tecso bowl that's a given now as you've given them a green light (maybe not you personaly)

...and out come the trolls.... ;)
As for the 12,000 who didn't vote? I can only guess they felt that their voice wouldn't be heard, so why bother?! That or they were all on holiday.
Who the eff knows.

I just don't know why Everton didn't wait a bit longer. The Liverpool City Council has consistently told Everton that they were trying to find options for them that would feasibly and cheaply keep them in Liverpool, but they are so in love with Kirkby that we've practically made Liverpool a one team city.

Sorry but that's b0ll0x ,the club stated that they would accept whatever the outcome of this vote was and act accordingly,
Now 25,000 out of 36,000 voted and the Yeahs only won by 18% now either that 12,000 do not care (which i doubt) or they felt the move was a good thing but couldn't bring themselves to be a part of the machine that is moving you (which i think is what happend)..
P.s your mod posted this on the Liverpool forum and i thought i do you the service of posting in here, hardly trolling.

I think a lot of people just don't know the options that are out there on the table. Or maybe people are just as convinced as the board are that this is the only way to go. I personally didn't like the Loop idea to be honest, but I certainly did like redeveloping Goodison.

No need to get touchy...I was joking, hence the ;) next to the statement.
Agreed about King's Dock. We lost a fantastic opportunity there. Especially since the whole waterfront has been booming.

I feel your hurt i'm the same when it comes to Anfield even though we're only moveing 200yrds,your proposal for Stanley park involved knocking down the Victorian end of the park that's why you were refused permission and we were granted it.We were also offered the Kings Dock before you (when you were looking into Stanley) but turned it down because it would be too small.
Like i said it will be sad when you leave but there will only be one winner out of all this and sadly for you Blues it'll be us as in 10yrs the local kids who would've been Blues will mostly become Reds.

I wouldn't be too sure about that, being said that its not like we're moving USA sports style to a new city. I'm sure the club will do its work in bringing transportation and the like to the city.
Also, I think that most fans of these two clubs become fans of their clubs through their families, sure there are some exceptions, but for the most part I think Evertonian families will still teach their kids to be Evertonians, regardless or not if Everton are still in Liverpool. But I'll agree with you in a sense that, there will be more Liverpool supporters in Liverpool than Everton supporters soon.
