Does anyone have an idea what game will take the early, 7:30 AM ET time slot for the EPL on September 1st? No game is listed there as of yet, but Setanta has a "EPL game to be determined" on their website for that time. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated....

BBC says no morning game is scheduled in the Premier League, but there is a Championship game. Maybe they'll show that?

Not sure. Setanta says "EPL Teams TBC."

Odd there's no game for that time.

Last year it happened several times...about four days before next Saturday Setanta will realize there's no EPL game that week, and slide in a tape-delayed Aussie football match, or something similar. They could be waiting to see if the league will twist the arm of one of the host teams to move their gametime up.

My guess that the early Saturday game was originally going to be Blackburn v. Man City, and because the Rovers are playing a Thursday night UEFA Cup qualifier, they moved the game to 10 am (ET) Sunday. This happens all the time (last week, both Liverpool and Arsenal Wednesday matches had to be postponed due to Champions League qualifiers) even though the schedule makers should know that these UEFA games would definitely be taking place on these dates even before the season begun.

I remember on Sundays, there was sometimes no early game, and they put in a live game from Scotland (as long as it wasn't Celtic or Rangers playing).

Sky Sports showing Sheffield Wed v Bristol City from the Championship, 1245 BST

Setanta listed as having Man Utd vs Sunderland, 1715 BST

To clarify - above two games being broadcast live in UK/Ireland; I don't know whether they are being broadcast live elsewhere.

Didn't Blackburn/Arsenal get moved to Sunday 10:00 ET (i.e. not one of the scheduled slots) because of a UEFA Cup Qualifier? It's as if the schedule makers forget that there's European competition out there.

Isn't that what I had said...like exactly?

Setanta has now scheduled an Air New Zealand Cup (rugby) telecast for 7am Saturday September 1, so they have indeed realized that there will be no "early" Premier League game on that date.

Could this be why Setanta is showing four games (as opposed to the usual three) this Saturday? (Wigan v. West Ham has been added to the schedule)

Where do you see this? Still has an undetermined EPL game when I check it....

Not quite. Arsenal v Blackburn was presumably scheduled for last Saturday, but because Blackburn had a UEFA Cup Qualifier on Thursday, they had to move it to Sunday. So the details are different, but the same point that the schedule makers are apparently idiots.

I would think so.

I see, you were making a point of bringing up another example of the EPl schedule makers blindness to UEFA scheduled games...

To IU34...if you link to the Setanta schedule database, you'll see that they have updated the schedule with that game

Thanks guys. I just called and Setanta stated that they're updating their schedule and no game will be on during that time.
