I gotta say this sounds promising: there's a gay, mormon flight attendant (male) and a christian talk radio host (woman). please let there be fireworks.

Also, some details from survivorfever.net:

* There'll be 16 people
* Each tribe will be given a copy of Sun Tzu's The Art of War for tribe motivation
* Two Hidden Immunity Idols will be in plain sight (one at each camp), although the castaways will not realize this at the start of the game.
* Each week, the winning tribe of the Reward Challenge will be allowed to kidnap someone from the losing tribe. The person who is kidnapped will receive a note from Probst before departing for the enemy camp and will be instructed to give it to one member of the enemy tribe (the kidnapped victim will decide who receives it) in private. The clue will inform this person of the Hidden Immunity Idol located somewhere at their camp. The kidnapped victim will return to their original tribe at the following Immunity Challenge.


So, no exile island but this could be better because the person kidnapped will be able to gather some serious intel.

Plus they can give the clues to the obviously weak or cast out person in the other tribe to mess up any groupings, plus builds for future merge aliances.

you wonder if they'll be that smart. I mean, they always sent the strongest peson to exile island (and right to the immunity idol) ... you wonder if they'll give the clue to the alpha male in order to curry favor. you're right, of course, in that giving it to the weak is better -- it disrupts their plans PLUS gives you an ally that will be loyal. The strong players want you to join them. The weak players will join you. Big difference.

Weird. That ought to be interesting. I'm sure he's no longer a member if he's out, unless that church has really relaxed its standards since I went there.

Who knows? I just glanced at the story that was linked ... but he seems like a cool guy.
it's cool to have survivor back. I'm really interested to see how the immunity idol plays out this time. those are some interesting twists.

For the first time, I'm in a Survivor pool at work. I have some 32 year-old surfing instructor from Venice, CA named Aaron. Sounds like a cocky SOB that'll get tossed early. I was hoping for someone that would fly under the radar for a long time but I don't see some surfer dude keeping a low profile.

Alas, I'm missing tonight's episode to go to a concert.
