I know this one is going to get mixed reviews, but I'm glad he's not retiring in the MLS. I'm glad he's going to get some more time in the spotlight, he's deserving of it.

I guess Fulham sees something in Kasey MLS dosen't. Kasey has lost a step but can still play in top flight.

Does this mean another call up?

I hope not. He was always over-rated by USA fans. Don't get me wrong, he was a very good shot stopper, but he has he has unusually bad distribution. King of the mindless punt.

Fulham seems committed to creating the largest concentration of Americans in the British Isles since the weeks before D-Day

I think Kasey only gets called in if we have a string of injury at keeper. I don't think he'd of been on the Copa roster if Marcus were healthy, and might not have even played in the Gold Cup. He'll never "retire" from the nats, but I think he understands that others have passed him and rightly deserve their chance.

it is about cheap value. This is soccer and the USA. Have you noticed a flood of McBride shirts around your town?

Yank-tastic.

Three American starters today, and would possibly have been four had McBride not been injured.

Now that McBride is down, it gives me another reason to watch Fulham. Let's not kid ourselves, Kasey is surely a bargain on the market and their goalie has had two serious howlers in the last two weeks. Plus, we named our son after Kasey. Met him and is a great person to talk to about life. Can't wait to see him suit up for the cottagers.

I look at Keller as filler not unlike Simon Elliott. Hopefully Antti Niemi comes back quickly from the injury.

Not gonna get into details because the thread title doesn't have an R in it, but Keller didn't look too great...

From what I read Fulham fans seem to think he didn't play that bad. I'm still thinking he's a little over-the-hump, especially after watching Copa America. I thought he should have stopped one of those goals today. It wasn't necesarily his fault, but a good keeper would have gotten a hand on it.

Highlights of the match are here. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01Fhs-1xcSQ)

Neither of the goals were Keller's fault, and he had one excellent save. I'm a big Keller supporter, but I don't want to see him with the nats again unless he comes back into form. That said, blaming him for either of those goals is absurd.

Keller actually didn't look too bad for Fulham yesterday. He seemed to have the defense organized, at least until it collapsed in stoppage time. He controled his area and had no chance on either goal (one being an own goal by that tree stump Zak Knight). His distibution was ok because he used throws a lot. His punts were long and as some one said, pointless. I warned the Fulham website to watch out for hurried back passes. He flat scares the hell out of you when the ball is at his feet.

He looked a little rusty which is understandable but I think he'll give Fulham a decent season and maybe even two as a solid backup to Niemi and maybe even challenge for the #1.

Lastly, pleeeeeese Bob, no more call ups. We have Tim & Marcus with Chris & Brad waiting in the wings. If you're going to call up geezers, call Friedel & see if he'll come back.
