No more treble talk.

No more 'quad' talk.

Actual doubts and fears about where our next points will come from.

Unsurity about the line-ups.

Actual debates about the situation.

A lovely reality check for those that needed it.

People finally taking one game at a time - not overlooking the opponent in front of us.

All hype and cobwebs surrounding the team being forcibly removed.

A true need for focus.

It's almost like the good old days :)

A few fanboys have calmed down/disappeared, I'll give you that.

Can't say I love it. And I'm pretty sure the more even-minded amongst us did debate alot of the things you mentioned even when we were flying high last year.

It is interesting though.

Agreed. I hope we continue our bad run, shake off a few more gloryhunters, finish outside the top four, win nothing and completely lose the recent gloryhunters, sponsorships, and glamour players.

I'm always a bit uncomfortable when we're favorites for the big prizes. The most enjoyable league wins were those where we were written off after a poor start and came storming back, e.g. 1996 and 2003.

If we turn this round and win the league or the CL this season then it'll be all the sweeter.
If this season turns out to be another "transition" season then I'm still good. I'm still feeling the afterglow of United being champions again.

I hope that it is over and done with in terms of the bad results but I am also not pushing the panic button like a lot of people. I would like another striker that is like Anelka, Bertbatov, or even Ibra, or at the least a target man that can finish as it seems every other peg is in the hole with our play.

I still think we can win the league because honestly Club Russia and the Hub Cap theives don't look like they are up for it over the long haul.

And people that hate Glazer are probably celebrating too - he's in danger of losing money if the team doesn't perform well and might well have to sell it.

To be honest though, money issues shouldn't be too big. I'm hoping the Glazers haven't built their financial policy/summer transfer spending around us winning the EPL again. As long as they haven't done that, then we ought to be fine in money terms - we will make the CL, get that money, and get whatever money is associated with being at the top portion of the Prem - maybe even the winners again.
