Anybody heard anything regarding Bojinov's injury ?

Couldnt really see how it happened but looked quite serious with him having to be strechered off :(

He landed quite awkwardly on that leg. It was a knee fro sure it looked pretty serious but you can never really tell right away. I hope he is OK.

Hopefully he is alright ....

He would of loved to participate in a Manchester Derby, It's a crying shame that he only had 5 minutes on..

SGE Mentioned something about a tendon injury on the website. Hope it's nothing too serious Bojinov could add some serious firepower and pace.

OH NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

As a Juventus fan, I miss not having VB on the team this season, but being a City fan I knew he'd be more appreciated, get more playing time, and be a great weapon on City. This news is horrible! Oh lord I hope his injury isn't as serious as it sounds!

Bojinov will most likely be out for upwards of three months.

"Valeri Bojinov will miss at least five months of the season after a scan on the injury he picked up in Sunday’s derby confirmed he has damaged the lateral and anterior cruciate ligaments of his left knee.
The Bulgarian striker fell awkwardly following an aerial challenge with Patrice Evra after just six minutes of his first start for the Blues.
The 21-year-old, signed from Fiorentina in early August, had previously made two substitute appearances for City."

WOW that blows! What a shame. Hope to see him fully fit and in the side at least for the end of the season.

I was so optomistic about Boj, thinking he could be an amazing setup partner with Bianchi, and Geovanni/Elano... oh well, hopefully he will recover and go on to great things for our future team. I'm almost certain SGE will get a striker either now or in the Jan. transfer window. (Jermaine Defoe if he's cheap, but probably not) I would prefer an Import, but ya never know. Sturridge is too young to take the reins.

This sucks....He should have played a lot more a Juve last year and I was sad to see him go but knew it would be a good chance for him. I never had a favorite english team, despite following the league every year, but after they got Bianchi and Bojinov(and already had Corradi) I jumped on the bandwagon.

i like your optimsm, but how are we going to make it without him? Bianchi is our only dependable striker now.

This is really bad news.

This will just force SGE's hand to purchase another striker and keep either Big Sam or Corradi.

Did Sturridge play in any of the preseason friendlies?

Surely SGE will pick up another striker.

We still have Mpenza remember.

After that, It's Sturridge. We really do need another good striker ..

Yes Bojinov's injury is a big blow to us but its not the end of the world. Mpenza and Bianchi are just as dependable strikers as they showed in the Cup match last night. It sounds like Samaras, Vassell and Corradi could be off before tomorrow night so we do need a new striker and Sven will sign a replacement for Bojinov. Watch this space.
