Items being thrown on the field.
Section 113, smoke flares.
Section 111, bottles.
When is this going to stop? Those are "our" supporters section, and this sh!t is still going on? I might have missed it, but I didn't see anyone get escorted away. Were they kicked out? If not...
What is going on? How can nobody in the section see who is doing this? Is it that they (the fans around the culprit) are too afraid/intimidated to point out to security who is doing this?
Water bottles are one thing, but smuggling in smoke flares is completely premeditated. These a$$holes need to be seriously berated by the fans, aggressively escorted by security, tazered by Toronto police, and put in a cell with a guy named Bubba for a night or two. Get out of OUR stadium.
Those who witnessed the person throwing and didn't do anything about it are accountable (in my mind) as well. Don't let this sh!t continue.

My dissapointment.. was the smoke bombs were terrible... they smoked for like 5 seconds and then it was done....
What a waste..

what for?
so that they don't get let back into the stadium.
ya, nobody likes a rat, but people also dont like one when person ruins "it" for everybody else. all it takes is one a$$ to spoil the party.

The team has been really patient and let us throw streamers during corners and cause a lot of good natured trouble. It takes one player, cop or security staff to be hit by a bottle, twonie or flare and all that fun is going to go away. Let's be smart about it.

Not to condone their actions, but Ill bet we would see a whole lot less of this is the team werent close to breaking the MLS all-time futility record for the second time this season. Frustrations are boiling over.

This is what happens when you dont score a f***ing goal for 6 games. It will stop once TFC scores a goal and gives us something to cheer about.

My concern is potential damage to the field. At least they weren't road flares like last time.
Every time this type of thing occurs, I can't help wondering how close the clock is to midnight.

what about respect for the people who built the stadium and gave you a team? (not you, but any fan).
if i were the owner, i would want the fans to support one another, and help find the scum who bring that garbage into the stadium. look at it this way. ownership looks to the fans. fans look to the leaders (rpb - usector). the intolerable acts were coming right out of section 111, and 113... the primary fan support section. If i were ownership and i heard a request from the "leading support group" of the team for a new field...what do you think my reaction would be?
fix up your act, and stop those immature hooligans from doing that.
like i said before, there's a difference throwing a piece of pizza (bought in the stadium) at an opponent who just scored and is taunting you in your own fan support corner, and smuggling in a flare/bomb.
flares and smoke bombs are not a part of soccer. anyone who would think to take one to the game needs to have a 3 iron swung into their face.
get the dumbass' who bring in flares to pay for the new field.

People are saying on the RPB forum that it was people that snuck into the section and tossed them.
Security removed them immediately and I'm sure a ban will follow.

im not the immature teenager that take cherry bombs to school and sets them off in the cafeteria.
im not the cockless dipsh!t that takes a gun to a nightclub to make me feel like a big man.
im not the clown that would bring in a flare to a soccer game.
are you saying that you aren't a fan of an organized advanced society, or are you just some 24 year old who acts 15?

great news. and if they aren't actual canadian citizens...lets deport them back to a country that tolerates smoke bombs and swarming mobs that kill security guards who try to help keep society peaceful and in order. :(

I think that our fans are starting to push it a bit, I love the streamers, but the league doesn't and if we keep pushing our luck than we may lose streamers and stuff like that. I was at a Roma game where they had smoke bombs, and it added a great atmosphere to the game, but obviously the MLS doesn't like it, I'm sure eventually when the rest of leagues fan's get more involved (like TFC fans) things like this will be allowed, but until then, our fans need to stop stuff like this.

Unfortunately you are right in your observation. Security and the rest of us will just have to be diligent and ready to point out those who do things that could jeopardize the safety of players and other fans.
Throwing streamers is one thing but bottles, flares ,etc is bad news. People who do will just have to lose privileges and if found to be season ticket holders the privilege of renewing their seats for the following year. I suspect that there are enough people of the wait list to take care of this.

Here is what concerns me, statements like this. "smoke bombs add a great atmosphere to the game.....things like this will be allowed". WHAT!!
Just because they do it in Europe there is a faction of people here that seem to think this needs to be replicated. Why can't we do it differently..because it wont be taken as big league soccer IF THE FANS don't create a European atmosphere? What kind of logic is that. How about we have our own "civilized" way to behave and ditch the mob mentality of hooliganism, fights, destruction and such. If your so concerned over how they do it in Europe, why don't you cheer at a hockey game at the ACC like they do in Czech republic or Switzerland singing those lame songs and stuff.
I'm sure everyone is already having a good time at BMO, the supporters do a great job of getting everyone fired up but why do we need the flares, bottles and object that can hurt just to create an atmosphere.
We are getting a reputation of rowdy good soccer fans for the league, but we are also taking heat for those who keep on throwing "objects" at road games and our own stadium.

OKay first off I didn't realize smoke bombs were being thrown on the field, I mean I think that it's cool in chicago games. but I agree that hooliganism should not be promoted and I didn't see anything about that I said I want better fans at other games with chanting and more involved, I never said anything about fighting and destruction.

It's probably not a big fuss right now, but latter events might follow that will then be big unless precautions are taken early. I think what Torontofcmark says is very accurate, why do we have to imitate everything they do in Europe, we should only copy the good not the bad. Sure it looks cool or manly to throw stuff and burn crap, fight other fanbases, etc, heck I enjoy watching youtube videos of fights in turkey and croatia and wherever, but let them do that kind of stuff, there are so many other ways to cheer for the team.
How about trying to get the whole stadium to chant the same chorus simoultaneously so that it sounds louder, and if we really want smoke flares and stuff, how about contacting BMO field staff and trying to arrange something more organized so that both the fans and BMO staff are in sync.
That's all I can think of right now, but surely we can find more ideas in order to make the fan experience better and at the same time keeping BMO field civilized and safe.
