Nowadays one never knows...:D
Stehplätze wird es keine mehr geben. Der Bereich für die Fans der Gastmannschaft soll noch etwas vergrößert werden, so dass bei einigen Spielen zusätzliche Tickets für Gästefans in den Verkauf gehen können.

Has anybody recently heard anything reliable? Last thing I heard, was no (significant) change in capacity, curves won´t be curves anymore but straightened (however that would be done) and the lightmasts will remain...but I don´t know, if that´s more than rumors (or april jokes) neither know I, if that´s still up-to-date...

There will be a press conference tomorrow.
But your information is pretty accurate. The Stadium gets new VIP lounges and boxes and that kind of crap. A new roof with the photovoltaic cell-thing on it (the largest in europe). Overall it will be modernized (new shiny toilets etc.). The capacity will remain the same.

Thanks!
We´ll see, what they´re saying on the press conference, but it seems like they really won´t make any significant improvements from an average supporter´s point of view (except new toilets and paint on the wall, of course)!

they actually change quite a lot. there will be a gym in the east part of the stadium for example. but me and most fans would like the stadium just like it is right now - just bigger.

I guess this cannot be avoided. But it looks better than i thought. Thinking about the future, it's probably a good idea.
Like the slogan hehe.
So by the end of 2008 we should have Fixed Gold, Platin VIP areas, photovoltaic plant, and the exterior facade.
The curves will be made straight in the summer of 2009.

looks pretty nice...I just hope, this won´t turn out to be made too much on the backs of the fans!

I wish it had been like that back in the early 80's when I was there. Loved watching Rudi Voeller. What a great stadium. Ours is just finishing, wish we could draw like Werder does.

what is this roof supposed to protect you from? Rain? in Utah?
It doesn't seem to keep the sun off the stands very well. but it looks cool.

Actually, they told us up front that it does shit in the rain and if the sun is right will do a little in the shade. It is for aesthetics only! Go figure.
Wish I had the means to fly to Bremen every now and again and visit my new, old stomping grounds.

Over the winter break the construction workers can work a lot without
interruptions like football matches and so on: link to the story with photo (http://www.werder.de/aktuelles/news/meldung.php/14727/Stadionarbeiten-ruhen-auch-zwischen-den-Feiertagen-nicht)
