I would like to know what other peoples opinions are on who is better: Brazilian Robinho or English Shaun Wright Phillips.

I've personally never like Robinho. SWP was great at Man City, but stunk up the place at Chelsea, I'm glad he has stayed though, as he is really starting to show potential.

SWP is so hit and miss that he's more trouble than he's worth. Robinho just had a great Copa America and has been growing consistently.

Robinhodid great at the Copa America, but i feel he should leave madrid,
SWP will lay a lot better this season than last,

I did feel that he should have originally gone the Brazilian Ronaldo root by going to somewhere like PSV first, learning about Europe and then finally after perhaps two seasons, and if good enough moving to a bigger European team, like when Ronaldo left for Barcelona, and what a move that was for him!

I'm a Shaun Wright-Phillips fan, but even I have to admit that Robinho is a WAY better player than SWP. Not only is Robinho about 3 years younger, he's stronger, more skilled, more versatile and more dangerous as a goal scorer. And he's just about as fast as SWP. SWP may be a better crosser of the ball, and may have a very slight pace advantage, but that's all he has on Robinho.

I completely agree with you, Robinho unfortunately has been really unappreciated by real madrid and this has certainly affected the potential he has. Hopefully he'll show what he's capable of this season.

You say unappreciated, we say underperformed.

That is in the past and he has failed to bring anything like that form to Real Madrid and Europe. On paper he is the better player but he has yet to prove it.

Robinho and it isn't even close. While Robinho isn't living to his potential, he's still got extreme talent. SWP kills so many drives for Chelsea and is so bad at crossing the ball, he's ridiculously fast and good on the ball, but that's it, it doesn't do much for me when he makes a nice run and carries the ball all the way down the field into the corner, and then loses it from there...

You have obviously not see SWP at his best though, like currently.

teso..

this is a no brainer.
robinho is the better footballer, no question.
wright-phillips had one good season with an average team.

i have.
He has played well for Chelsea this seaon and is living up to his potential, but for me i have to go for Robinho, he has just not had a good season at Madrid, if they moved him to striking position where he should be then he would be in his grove

I did not dispute that Robinho, on paper, is better. What I did dispute was the description of Wright-Phillips, particularly as he is currently getting back to his best.

Two questions,

1. so right now who would you choose

2. with both at full potential who would you choose.

1. Wright-Phillips
2. Robinho

Whether Robinho finds his previous form or reaches his potential is another question entirely.

would staying at Madrid help his career or would a move be preferred to fulfill his career and for him to achive his much wanted full potential

He should have a better chance with Schuster in charge.
