I'm surprised Sam Allardyce didn't jump him in baggage claim to try to get him to sign for Newcastle.

Hilarious. He hides behind baggage and pounces on unsuspecting players. :p

Who can resist his charm? ;) He might become one of the best footballers in the world though I think, and to think he will even play for Everton for a few years makes me drool ;)

Please take care of Fernandes guys.
He gained so much playing in England for your club, and it has added so many extra dimensions to his game, I thank you guys for that and I hope he does amazing for your club and improves even more!
He is by far Portugals best centre midfielder and I dream of him starting with Maniche and Deco.
Good luck this season, I hope you get top 6 atleast like last year!
Whats your starting 11 look like? same as last season?
Arteta and cahill attacking in midfield with Fernandes and Neville/Osman playing as defensive midfielders?
Manuel Fernandes..nicknamed "Manelele" by Jose Mourinho, has so much potential..I just shudder to think of what he can still become..Essien, but with more offensive upside....I just hope he doesnt diminish in obscurity.
Cheers.

David Moyes has revealed he expects midfielder Manuel Fernandes to become an Everton player.
Fernandes impressed during a six-month loan spell with the Blues last term. He returned to Benfica at the end of the campaign but Moyes has confirmed the 21-year-old is on the verge of returning to Goodison as part of a permanent deal.
Moyes said: ""He had the first part of his medical yeasterday afternoon, we are hoping that he completes the second part today and we can get the agreement done as soon as we possibly can. It might be that we can get it done for tomorrow, I am not sure.
"Manuel was with us on loan last season, so he knows all about us and we hope he will be able to hit the ground running when he arrives.
"He knows about us and what we do, he will give us a different option. We are playing with Lee Carsley and Phil Neville just now in the centre of midfield and he will give us more competition there.
"But he is a different type of player, with a bit more craft. At 21 he was a big player in the European Under-21 Championships for Portugal and we are delighted to have him."

We hardly ever released things on the official site unless they're going to happen. Moyes said it too, so I'm extremely confident now he'll become our player. What a midfield we'll have now, it was brilliant anyway,

will he play on the right again?
hes far more effective as a central midfielder being allowed to roam freely covering the defence and starting attacks.
will him, arteta, and cahill start at the same time?

I don't think he's ever played with Cahill considering Timmy was injured last year and is out at least another month now. I would love to watch those three together though.
Really getting irritating now about the signing. Moyes said Friday the deal would be done in the next 24 hours. 3 days later I guess we're waiting for clearance from Portugal? I really wish this was resolved sooner rather than later...

I read some speculation somewhere that Moyes wanted to trot both Yakubu and Fernandes out at the same time.
What a press conference that would be !!!
