Premier League
Date: Sunday, 19 August
Kickoff: 1:30 BST, 8:30 US EDT, 5:30 US PDT
Venue: City of Manchester Stadium

Live on Setanta Sports (US)

The big derby, traditionally a time for City to play their cup final. For them, everything is new--players, manager, owner. Will they be as up for it as some of the past derbies we've seen? Count on it--no matter where they get their players from, you can be sure they are familiar with Manchester United.

No Rooney or Ronaldo. Doubt we'll see Solskjaer or Saha involved. Anderson, anyone? Starts for Nani and Hargreaves could be possible as well.

I'm sure nani will start. Hargreaves may start as well so we can try and slow down elano running through the centre. I hope Anderson gets a run out as well.

We need to make a statement in one of our matches. Maybe it'll be this one.

Pretty sure Nani starts. If either one of Saha or Ole is close to fit though, I wouldn't mind seeing them start. I think Tevez needs another striker up there to work with - nothing against Giggs, but I don't know if that's the answer.

Scholes was brilliant against Pompey, and I want to see him be able to move forward like that against Citeh - therefore I wouldn't mind seeing Fletcher or Hargreaves start with Scholes - I know Carrick has been good, just my opinion.

How about pushing Scholes up for this one? Against Portsmouth every time he went forward (probably 4-5 times the entire game) it seemed we had a dangerous moment or scored. He's excellent at quarterbacking, but we need him at a different role, where imo he's much better than Giggs.
If Hargreaves can't go, we can go with Fletch.

That said,

Nani/Giggs--Carrick--Hargreaves--Giggs/Nani

yes. i'll take any sloppy win but a firm 3-0 would do nicely

Sir Alex is going to live up to expectations by leaving Anderson and Hargreaves out of the field and bench again.

I expect

VDS
Brown-Ferdinand-Vidic-Silvestre
Nani-Scholes-Carrick-Evra
Giggs
Tevez

subs: Kuszczack, O'Shea, Pique, Eagles, Dong

Sheesh. you guys were serious about me not starting anymore threads? :D

Serious note, since Saha was not even on the bench against Pompey, I assume he was not fit enough to start. should we reasonable expect him to start here?

As far as a starting lineup we really dont have much options do we? so RofM looks like a winner to me..........

What cracks me up is that the media are saying that even if we win, Citeh will still be above us in the table... yeah, like that friggin' matters after THREE GAMES. I'm getting rather irked at all the fuss being started by the media because we haven't won yet.

I can't wait to see the comments from Citeh fans and the media when United END the season at the top again and Citeh are fighting in the mid-table, if that. :D

What if they are not fit, Mr. Negativity?

What if they are not fit, Mr. Negativity?

if Tevez can go out there. Then Anderson had better get his overpriced, cornrowed ass in a Utd shirt ....

Hargreaves as well. If they aren't fit then either Fergie hasn't been telling the media about their injuries or they've done ******** all in training the past 2 weeks.

They're both coming of injuries, unlike Tevez.

But Tevez was forced in due to Rooney's injury. Fergie says that he would have preferred to wait. According to the boss, Anderson just needed a couple more days of training, that is all.

I have no answer for Hargreaves, however.

Someone got paid, and all of a sudden he's on the team

Manu fans be thankful....that is the only reason why he was in the copa squad

If there ever was a game to pile the midfield.....this would be it. We need Hargreaves in there to disrupt Elano. I'm sure Tevez will score in this one, it's only a matter of time before he does. I say 1-0 to United.
