A new trophy the go for the APL?

Should the APL go for a new trophy or retain the present one? I believe they should. I am designing one right now so I will post it on my webpage very soon!

I firmly believe that any new league should shed the vestiges of the old entirely. A fresh and optimistic new beginning. A new trophy would be essential. I don't know about designs. Perhaps a public competition between australian design graduates?

pffft uni grads making a trophy? They would come up with a flower or and aboriginal political thing as a trophy! What I mean is they they would come up with something completely different and stupid and not look like a trophy. Yes a new one is required but maybe SA and Lowy should think it out carefully. I am still designing what I think they should have.

I bet some design grads can come up with great designs but from what i have seen from grads in the past.....well i am not impressed, however my opinion can be easily persuaded if they can impress me.

Well, ok. I admit that a uni grad designed trophy might be a bit... crap. But what I intended was to make it a competition between smaller, Australian owned industrial design firms and freelancers. It'd place ownership of the trophy into the hands of the general populace, more than a faceless multinational. I'd be hoping for something more original than yet another trophy that's almost the world cup trophy, but not quite.

But yeah, if all the entries were namby pap we'd be screwed over.

The design is nearly ready but i am trying to make it "real" like 3d on paper but it is very 2d and very confusing diagram.
