If this does in fact become a reality, could he have the same success as "El Matador" did when he played for River?? Only time will tell. Regardless though, I think this is a tremendous acquisition. This kid is legit.

I don't think so, because he is fast and very technic player, but he will not score a lot of goals, like Salas, Crespo, etc.
Va por fuera, but he can give good assists to the 9 and the other players.

Whether he scores them or provides the assist, all I know is this, all of the hinchas we'll be shouting "Shileeeeeeeeeeeeeno, Shileeeeeeeeeeeno, Shileeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeno"!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine how many jerseys River we'll sell now.;)

And to think that even Rosales is a sub for now! Our offense is going to be looking good next season . Unfortunately, we still need a #9, one of those who puts the ball past the net in EVERY shot. Take a look at our fowards:
- Mauro Rosales: many assists, not too many goals.
- Alexis Sanchez: many assists, not too many goals.
- Ariel Ortega: many assists, not too many goals.
- Marco Ruben: more of a goleador, but hasn't scored much since he joined the club.
- Radamel Falcao Garcia: Never fully recuperated from his injury. End of story.
- Rolando Zarate: Used to be a goleador, but now is old and full of injuries. We will have to see how he evolves.
- Andres Rios and Sebastian Sciorilli, amongst other youngsters, are behind all the above.
So yeah, we are still in the same situation as before, but that doesn't mean that it isn't one good looking offense. Hopefully they can live up to my expectations and take the Apertura and/or Sudamericana titles.

Hope he feels at home playing in the Monumental. We'll need him when Bielsa fields him against Argentina later this year. :p
Train him good, boys! :D

Add Federico Higuain to that list. I had completely forgotten about him. :o

No need to, he's not longer with the team. Personally, I am looking forward to see how good the kid Sanchez will be but I am keeping my expectations low. After all he'll be with the club for only a year, he won't be no Salas or idolo for that matter. Nothing against Sanchez but I hate the fact that we just sold a kid who has been in the club since the age of 10 for a guy that's only coming to play for a year and has to adapt to the club and league.

My prediction is he will come of the bench on a few matches make a few assists, maybe a goal or two and at the end of the season he will go to Udinese...River needs a number 9. I can't believe a big club like River doesn't have one.

Hoy fue titular por 1ª vez en River Plate, hizo otro gol, dio otro pase gol, y salió ovacionado nuevamente, a 5 minutos del final.

I wish "El Nino Maravilla" could've played today in the Superclasico. Imagine how stupid he would've made the bosteros defense look. Let's hope for a healthy return for the kid.;)
