Sven keeps saying there will be a new Keeper signed any day now. Does anyone know who are target's are at this point?

Since Scott Carson is being loaned out to Villa (good riddance for that price! 12mil pounds)Livorno's Marco Amelia is our primary target. Cudicini of Chelsea (the other one who got jacked up in the Reading game) was a rumour a week ago, otherwise nobody else has been linked with us. He signed a backup's backup from Brighton the other day.
Could be the SGE of the first couple of weeks with a large suprise, but lately someone has been leaking all his potential moves.

It could be him. All the money the club is trowing around is good for publicity, and the more clubs who's names come up in these "possible" deal means the more people who are going to read about the club.

Why waste money on a keeper we don't need one that badly give Schmeichel a chance and Isaksson can hold his own

I am going to have to agree with this statement. Not that we don't have money to waste, but I would like to give Schmeichel a chance. And I know that Isaksson can be a solid Keep for us this year when he is healthy. I think if neither of them are showing anything come January is when we will see a new Keep. We shall see though won't we?

Plus, even though Amelia is a great keeper (Italian NT's #2), if we can hold off on the goalie for now, we get to hold on to Corradi.
If that's the case ...
BUY !! BUY !! BUY :D.
Just Kidding, But honestly, If we can get a few games under the belt of Kasper the friendly Ghost, while winning games. It's all good !

While it is hard to argue with Sven-Göran Eriksson's success in the transfer market so far, I am not convinced that bringing in an expensive, high profile goalkeeper is the right move.
It is not as if Isaksson is out for the rest of the season, he will be back in 3-4 weeks now as I understand it. Young Schmeichel and/or Hart (who would be my choice as stand in TBH) may be inexperienced and not ready to take on first choice duties for a whole season but as Kasper has shown so far they can do the job good enough for a few games.
The only reason to bring in someone like Amelia is if SGE & co. do not see Isaksson as a natural first choice and if that is the case why did they not search for a new keeper from day one?
I would rotate Schmeichel and Hart until Isaksson is back, that would give them the experience they are lacking at the moment. If SGE feels that City must have an experienced goalkeeper then he should instead bring in some old yard dog on loan to steady the ship until Isaksson returns.

For what it's worth I thought Schmeichel played an excellent game against Derby yesterday.

I think Svenni is coming around on the youngin'. He's just worried his confidence might be 'shocked' if we have a terrible night. He's EXTREMELY young for a GK for a top level club. I think Amelia would be a good choice at a fair price, but that would def. put a dent in Issakson's hopes (who is quite a solid GK, and I despised every Nicky Weaver moment in the pipes last year)
How young is Kasper ? I seem to remember he's not even 20 .. That's amazingly young to get a start for a GK.

Is it just me or does Kasper look a bit short for a keeper?
He's very talented nevertheless. A carbon copy of his dad.

Make that 3 straight cleansheets for Schmeichel good luck to Isaksson getting his job back

We may have a bit of a position battle on our hands. Isaksson is still a class keeper, and I would be fine with him in back as well. As long as Richards and Dunne remain either keeper will do well in my oppinion.
