Hard to say. On the paper Bayern is the favorite, right. But I am wondering how motivated they will be. Their primary focus is on winning the German Bundesliga this season. If they end up not winning it again, they will be the clowns of the nation.

Absolutely, they've still got over 2 weeks to sell even more of their best players ;)

Maybe...at least they have enough of them.

WOW ,yet another thread so villafake8 can have an outlet to write up lists of mid table spanish clubs.
This kid is stark raving mad .Time to get a straightjacket.

HINT....
The winner will come from the teams that get dumped out of the champions league group stage.

I wonder why you feel the need to reply to threads that you find pointless. Wouldn't your time be better spent elsewhere, i.e. on threads that you do consider worthy of you?

That doesn't happen very often. Typically those teams are disinterested.

Plus this year, there are a lot of good teams already in the competition.

Bayern
Atletico
Spurs
Everton
Zargoza
AZ
Hamburg
Fiorentina
Blackburn
Bordeaux

I would not be surprised if Shakhtar won the UEFA Cup this year. I certainly expect to see them in the semi-finals.

Disinterested might be very small part of the reason. A bigger reason is that they're just not that good. The top 32 clubs in Europe don't all compete in the CL group stage.

And this season with so many minnows matched-up against each other in the third-qualifying round, expect to see even more fodder in the CL group-stages than usual.

I believe that Shakhtar Donetsk should be considered if, of course, they get dumped out at the CL Group Stage.

I haven't been following Shakthar closely but the last few scores I've seen weren't really promising. Then again the only game Shakthar game I watched this year was the friendly with Fenerbahce last month.

They are not jelling together yet - too many new players. Luccarelli, Ilsinho, Castillo, Hladkiy, another 4 Ukrainians. This team keeps winning but they do not seem to dominate yet. Luccarelli seems out of sorts, Castillo is not ready to hit the field yet. Ilsinho impresses on his flank but he's only played two games this far. Hladkiy has already scored 6 goals in 5 Ukrainian Premier League games and 2 goals in CL Qualification so far. He was Ukrainian Premier League's top scorer last year with FK Kharkiv.
