We're officially underway for the new season as everything is being updated and Gameweek 1 teams will soon be available for all to see.

First roster for the first match and first disappointments.
For me, no Dawson. I looked at Kaboul and thought, "This kids going to start and he is cheaper than Dawson," but I hesitated and now have lost the chance.
No Darren Bent!
"Jouls" Jol is just too tough to deal with.
The way it appears now I could have more players out for gameweek 1 than gameweek 2! But see me next week to confirm.

I feel your pain, I could very well struggle to have 11 players earn points this week.
Early season rosters are tough to judge anything by though.

Oh well. Mistake making the late transfer to drop Osman. Everything I read said he'd be a sub at best today...argh...should have stuck with my preseason plan post-hearing of Cahill's injury. Still not a bad start so far.
Aviators make a double swoop to create enough cap to acquire their target, the new Manchester City Brazilian #11, Elano.
Sir Grandpa Hal becomes the first Small Rocks manager to take a 4 point penalty for excessive weekly transfers! As Hal said, "Whatever it takes, I want Elano!"
OUT:
Viduka Forward Newcastle United 8.0
Alonso Midfielder Liverpool 7.0
IN:
Benjani Forward Portsmouth 6.0
Elano Midfielder Manchester City 8.0
In the bank: 1.5

And we haven't even got a double gameweek yet, Hal.
Thinking aloud.....
Windsor Wanderers are going to be struggling for points midweek, having transfered in a forward without a game; to join the other two forwards, two midfielders and three defenders who will be sitting it out as well.

I thought long and hard about doing that at 10.30 ;)

As did I, but I stopped and wondered whether it was Citeh being good or if West Ham being really that bad. My conclusion: WH is freakin' awful. Towards the end when Geovanni almost scored his second, I thought, 'great save keeps it from being 0-3 against the Hammers.' It occurred to me that this statement is going to be repeated over and over again for this team who strengthened every position except for the one where it was most woeful, defense. Spector, Upson and McCartney have no business starting in the league (okay, Lucas Neill was hurt), and Ferdinand is more easily distracted than his brother. So they'll be conceding goals. Then they have a mix of guys with such bad attitudes they'd be 'first sacrifices' for the sake of stability if they were stranded on a desert island after a plane crash. That group is Bellamy, Zamora, Ljungberg, Boa Morte and worst of all Bowyer. Ljungberg, it hurts to put him in this group as an Arsenal fan, but in recent years he's the second-biggest biggest whiner in the game--after Rooney. Nobody compares to Rooney. Compare that to this opponent, Man City, who were much their peer in the standings but who spent money to bulk up across the back with good players like Corluka and Garrido, to the point where they have can afford to have a sprinter-fast utility man like Onuoha coming off the bench.
Oops, didn't mean to go so long. Martin Petrov is exactly what this team needed. Even Georgie Samaras could probably score 10 goals off the crazy rebounds from his hammer shots. What an itchy trigger-finger that guy has.
I thought long and hard about doing that at 10.30 ;)
I had to stop myself from pulling the trigger after the first half. I was more impressed with Petrov, but wily Michel had him as well as Bianchi. Still, Elano's pace and creativy convinced me he'd be involved in lots of Citeh's scores this season. (As long as he doesn't get a rep for whining!) It's just unfortunate that I had to make two moves to afford him.

I was in the same boat, the 8.0 was too high for a single move.
That was the winning reasoning for not making a move.

There goes my two chances (Lehmann and Eboue) of clean sheets at the Emirates Stadium, soiled by Fulham's Healy.
At least Lehmann has had to make three saves, so we pick up an extra point there.

Well. That has certainly been less than fullfilling.
Hit by just about everything in the first week. Guys getting injured early and late. Transfering out goal scorers for guy who do not make the bench. And generally picking some who were unsettled.
All in all I will be lucky to make 20, and will need some serious assistence from the CH crew to make that.
Most of the scoring come from odd places so I should not be far behind even the leader. Just not the way you want to start.
From Yesterday:
Out:
Dawson D TH 5.5
In:
McShane D SU 4.0
Bank: 3.0
Injuried? Not sure, but might as well see if I can get some tenths out of the deal. The number 1 Crowd Selection (% Selected By) for a cheap starting defender did not make the bench (Boyce) so the "Herd" will move somewhere and today it looks like McShane. Over 6000 Transfers In.
More to follow as I deal with the Goalie situation (Neimi) and possibly the array of non-starting middies.

More on the MC start.
Hey, they were fun to watch. Whether it was the problems of West Ham or just a preview of what we will see all season is yet to be seen.
But they give you the impression that Petrov, Bianchi and Elano could terrorize more that a few.
I pick Geovanni on reading that Elano may have work permit problems, but at least Geo will add to my total even if he did not start.
But good "Catch" to Michel.

But good "Catch" to Michel.
And I was so close to making Bianchi captain but I was hoping Martin Jol would show a little more attacking initiative and start with Keane, Berbatov AND Bent.
I'll give him a few more weeks to see the error of his ways, or Darren Bent will be peeling spuds in someone else's kitchen.

Scrub that as McSheffrey and Forssell combine to make Chelsea look like big-money UEFA Cup candidates; although Pizarro pulls one back.

Shoot...Kapo is 2nd on my sub bench and thus it looks like I'll miss out on his goal points. I went back and forth over if he should be the 1st or 2nd sub and went with Hunt instead for 1st sub.

The online watching options seem better this year. Saw a good bit of Newcastle yesterday and then the Arsenal, Chelsea, and Man U games today.

Looks like the clean sheet bonus will be hard to come by this week.
Also, Cannon has not joined in the spirit of taking it easy on the cup creators, as he beats me in the first match in the Golden Boot.
Shame on you cannon :)

How's the quality of Setanta? I'm just tuning into some Chinese channel that shows the games online. Free, but not perfect quality.
