The girl who gave me the interview played college soccer so we started talking about Beckham and soccer in general, I think it helped a little...
Concidering she says it usually takes a week to find out if you got it and she called me an hour later:eek:

I'm all over this thread...

Had 2 interviews last week, one with Pepsi, one with Citizens Communication. Got called back to do a second with both of them next week, so that's a good sign. With any luck I'll be able to play them off each other if I get job offers from both. :)

Been in my new position for a month now.

I f**ked up too, I worked too hard the first 2 weeks to try and be in good books, and now I'm getting extra tasks/duties. Every 4 f**kin days I get a new project - if this sh*t keeps up I'll definitley be sniffing for a raise in 6 or 7 months.

Edit - On the other hand, I'm still living like a college student, 800 bucks a month of expenses and f*king around, so I'll be able to save quite a bit of money, potentially make a trip to India next June all on my own dime.

India? How about Switzerland/Austria?

And isra, shouldn't you be able to spell your future place of work or are you waiting to be hired first?

At the moment, I'm deciding between Europe and India. The thing about India is that it's my homeland, but I've never been there without my parents. I want to explore the country myself, not just follow my mom around to her friend's homes.

Europe is a possibility as well - I have friends studying abroad, including one studying at an International studies school in Switzerland.

I think the price won't be that much different - anything I save on a less expensive flight to Europe will be spent on more expensive goods. American money is worth so much in India.

I have to be disciplined in my saving over the next 8 months, regardless.

Dude, what's waiting for you in India next summer? You can always go to India, but you can'tt always go to Euro 08!

All over this thread. If anyone ever wants to come out and work in Dubai, don't waste a second hesitating in your decision, do it. It's freaking amazing out here, I've been totally hooked up from housing to transportation to food, good pay, and only working 7 hour days teaching SAT and TOEFL. Good times.

What class level are you in college? Cuz that sounds incredible. I was going to work this summer for Kaplan a bit teaching SAT till I got this job. Dubai does sounds incredible.

Starting undergrad senior year in the fall. If you want, and this goes for everyone, PM me for details, there's some downside that I've left out on purpose.

Of course there is. The chicks there don't put out.

In any event, are you strictly talking about teaching SAT and related courses or what?

Ohhh believe me the chicks put out far more than you'd ever expect. There's only like 10% locals who live here, the rest are ex-pats and Indians/Pakistanis who do the blue collar work. There's two classes of women here, none of them fall in the respectable category. Either they are literal prostitutes who charge you cash money for their services, or they are drunk whores whose payment comes in the form of booze from the bar. There is no middle class, so to speak. If your worry coming here is about not being able to get any, then I'll put those fears to bed right now (no pun intended). You'll do rather well for yourself, if I can come across as somewhat suave and attractive to these girls then anyone can.

My complaint is something that is far more general, but I'm afraid to say it in public.

I don't get what you mean exactly? If you mean do I exclusively teach different types of standardized tests, then the answer is yes. SAT mostly and one TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language) class. I don't teach anything else, although TOEFL often seems like an English class simply because the kids don't get a word you're saying because they don't understand you.
