unless there are objections, I'm actually going to put in a request to have this board title changed to NFCDR, because that's how it's been used in the past and it might help the discussion of this kind of thing... a very helpful post, btw.

If you subscribe to DishNet and you are a fan of the EPL then you may want to check your channels. I rarely watch non-HD channels these days but I was suprised to see a new channel pop up on 406 called Sentanta. I think its part of SKY but they've been showing most of this weekend's opening matches.

yeah I think my friend (thedza on bigsoccer) is getting that now too. he said it's a free preview for both Direct TV and Dish Network and that it ends on september 9.

I'm going to check in on it. There is a running ticker that keeps mentioning the freebie on Direct and it is also a preview on Dishnet but I'm getting the preview channel and the regular channel which always means that it's one that I get. I guess the most basic Dishnet packages don't get it. I don't get GolTV or FSC so I make up with World Sport and hopefully now Sentana. I'm in the middle of watching Birmingham City and Chelsea that I recorded earlier.

Setanta is just running on a free preview for all dish users right now. I know for a fact that on Dish Network the preview ends on Sept 9th. I am not so sure about Directv. The reason it is running on Dish Network is because they recently added it to their stable of networks. It used to be the only way you could get the channel was with directv or with ITVN. It will cost 15 extra bucks a month to get it after the preview is over and you will also get Setanta Extra which is like an alternate channel. Setanta is from Ireland and ESPN has been in talks to buy the channel which could make it part of the regular sports packages on either dish providers.

Well the free preview of Setanta for Directv users is over. Apparently it was only for the weekend. So enjoy your Setanta until sept 9th Dish Network people.

International Day is Wednesday.
Trinity Hall will have both the US-Sweden game on at 1:30 on the Bigscreen, and the England-Germany game on at 4pm, also Bigscreen.
There will be plenty of people there, despite the inconvenient time on the US game.
Surely Londoner in Addison will be showing both as well.

title changed after request from FC Uptown... it'd be cool to use this thread to talk about the pub viewing schedule throughout the year. maybe it even deserves a sticky?

so trinity hall is now the big liverpool hangout eh?
wonder how they would feel if a bunch of mancs crashed the place when utd played the pool later in the season? just for spirit of rivalry haha
also, does anyone know if other bars/pubs around the area are local hangouts for supporters groups of diff teams? (ie: liverpool fans at trinity hall). who's at the londoner and is anyone at various fox & hounds etc?

Not sure of a ton of other soccer friendly pubs in the area where supporter's meet regulary. Others will surely know more. This is a bit of an exciting period in local soccer pub history btw, with several new places coming online. There's the new Irish pub Lochrann's going up across from PHP(http://www.lochranns.com/?p=22). I might also follow the development of the new Bennigan's Sport (http://www.benniganssport.com/) in Addison which looks like it is marketing to Euro-sport types. There is even a new Irish pub in DFW Airport, Tigin - part of the Fado chain (http://www.tiginirishpub.com/dallas/). My question is who is going to build a pub that is exclusively soccer-focused and soccer themed (jerseys on the wall, balls, trophies, pictures, etc) - marketed as the one place to go in Dallas for soccer fans where your game will always be on - no negotiations, no "back end of the bar", no "we don't get Setanta/Fox/GolTV".
