Didn't catch news of it until the mentioned the big promotion for McBride in the DC / LA match on ESPN2.

Many congrats to Brian! Way to go, and best of luck!

A great honor for a great player. I'm quite proud that McBride is getting the recognition he deserves. Hopefully he leads Fulham to a great season in the Premiership. Congrats, Brian!

goes to show you that hard work and character do make a difference. What a classy player and person McBride is. Met hime off the field a couple of times and he makes time for the fans and more importantly his family He is my favorite player from the US NATS. The only question is, will this get him a starting role on the pitch, I'm not sure. He is a known quantity and I believe in him but it seems every year they try someting different in the beginning and then figure out McBride should have been there. Does he have the pace or skill of other Premier League forwards, NO but yet he has hovered around the top ten in goals the past couple of years.

Well, that is a great achievment. An american being named captain on an EPL team is a great honor and it shows that heart, hard work and determination pay off. Tommorow against the Gunners he can hopefully lead us to victory and a great start to the new season
