Unbelieably Zito thinks steriod use is fine. He also thinks every MMA guy in the UFC uses them.
I thought he can't be serious. Serra, BJ, Lidell, Karo, Sanchez, and we can go on and on there not using performance enhancing drugs. There just good.
What do you guys think are they ALL using them?
Excuse the spelling of Zito I most have pasta on my mind

While I don't think all of the fighters are using them, I wouldn't be surprised if a large number are - there are very few chances to make real money and you either want to get one of those spots, or defend the spot you have.
It's unfortunate, and I'm glad Dana White is serious about cracking down on it.

This the real problem in my eyes at least.
They advertise matches way in advance to help sell tickets for the event.
2 months before the event the fighters train all the time and a lot is full contact. You do that 5 days a week you have a good chance to get over use injuries or real injuries.
So what to do. Tell guys like Dana White that you won't be able to fight in the event because your injuried?
He loses millions at the event and even more money lost promoting that fight.
He diesn't want that. The fighter does not want it either because White remembers it.
Example Karo against Hughes for the title. Last minute replacement fight was shit. The next event UFC had did not get a good turnout.
Karo has not been offered a title fight since that time. He may never get one.
Certain types of steriods promotes healing.
White does not care if the shit hits the fan about steriods after the fighter fights. He made money.
So many fighters are doing them because of injuries it could kill the sport.
I train soccer players and I train them 2 months before they play in tournaments. I make sure they have at least a day of recovery time after a hard practice.
Train 5 days a week every other training session has to be light.
Very close to tournament time practice should be light.
In MMA do the same and padded close to fight time.
You get less injuries during training.

I've wondered how many are juicing--I've also wondered whether fighters shop organizations based upon testing practices. I have a close friend that fought in Japan for a while, and he, well, he couldn't have put more juice in his body if worked at a Tropicana factory.

There has been a lot of talk elsewhere that Roids testing is part of the reason some of the PRIDE guys are struggling in the UFC.

I think the pride UFC thing has something to do with roids. I also think that they severly underestimated the US fighters. If you have a dougt that it is in fairly large use you need to watch the Mark Kerr special shown a few years back on HBO I can't recall the name but it is amazing how bad it has affected his health and the huge differance it made in his physique. That is not to say that other atheletes, such as american football players don't do the same. In the high money high profile sports inviroment they have alot to gain and relatively little to loose.
