La figura fue Nicolás Mazzola, que entró en el segundo tiempo y anotó dos tantos.

Laurito was injured (knee ligaments), and while I believe he recovered in time, I don't think he was fit enough.
I'm not sure why Trecharichi hasn't been selected, he plays for Sevilla now?

En la jornada de este domingo y con el estadio Cheonan como escenario, los nigerianos lograron aplacar la ambición de un equipo argentino que exhibió un buen juego durante todo el primer periodo.

It's probably no big deal. Last time we didn't even qualify and the next time around the U-20s won.
IMO it's best not to win the u-17, as it may put a lot of pressure on the youngsters too early, when it's probably best to develop a little later.

It's the only International tournament left for Argentina to win, and if completed Argentina would be the first and only national team to have won on all levels.

I watched a few matches (vs. Syria,Costa Rica and Nigeria). We lost to Nigeria simply because the guys didn't turn up. They played a reasonably good first half but when they look good to score, they found themselves down by a goal (inexistent penalty that the ref bought). When they were looking for the equalizer Nigeria did a nice combination releasing their top goalscorer into the box and put themselves ahead by two. The timing couldn't have been worse for the arg u-17. The second half, the team looked beaten although they still tried but most of the kids were with the "polvora mojada". Guys to look for in the future: Meza, Machuca and Salvio. And I also liked the fantastic heading ability of Sauro.
Finally, I didn't like hearing Tojo complaining about the age of the Nigeria kids. Come on! Just take the defeat and move on. I am sick and tired of whining and complaining once the stakes are in.
I found this interview to Sauro in which he surprisingly(?) states that he hasn't been able to find a role model in Boca Juniors. A bit of a stick for my Boca co-posters :D
Although a Boca Juniors youth product, his footballing role models are to be found across the Atlantic. "To be honest, there's no one in the Boca squad who really excites me as a player," he declares somewhat surprisingly. "The person I really admire is Alessandro Nesta, and I try to learn all I can from him."

Ghana and Nigeria in the U-17 level have been able to win twice and have both made 4 final appearances. Under Brazil they are the two teams with the most championships in the U-17 tournament.
The last time Nigeria won the U-17 in 93, they eventually went on to win the Olympics in 96 beating both Brazil and Argentina.
