Mods, if you want to join the two threads together for today's friendlies then go ahead, I don't care. Didn't know how this would fit in with the generally un-enforced rules regarding not talking about other games within match threads so kept 'em seperate. Thought it might be confusing as hell, too.

Also, I'm assuming that the one on MUTV will be easier for most of you to find a stream for and that the Glentoran game might be overlooked somewhat. So maybe keep all the info on that one, (for those that want it) in one easy-to-find place?

Thing is, it might kill much of the pre-match chatter if it's across two threads.

i'm behind you for two threads.. it will make things much easier to talk about. I can only imagine the confusion when two Manchester United games are beeing discussed simoultainiously. This way.. you can go to the thread of the game you are watching and keep it in there. As for the pre/post game talk.. it's never about the games anyways ;) So we can just have two threads for talking crap instead of one

I demand you post that in the other thread too.

In other news, and it's good news, Paul Scholes is in the squad for this one. :)

Scholes fitness boost

Paul Scholes could make a quick return to action following an exploratory knee operation after he was named in the Manchester United squad to face Dunfermline in a friendly tonight.

Fergie's going to be at neither game as he's moving house.

What's there not to get? half of the squad goes to Dumferline, half to Glentoran... We've done it before and everyone close to playing on sunday will get a 90 min runout or close to it.

Ask Fergie.

Squad for Dunfermline according to Dunfermline's website: (I had to bleedin' register to access the story )

Van der Sar
Kuszczak
Bardsley
Brown
Pique
Shawcross
Silvestre
Eagles
Fletcher
Scholes
Hargreaves
Eikrem
Giggs
Evans
Rooney

A bit confusing as the story says we're taking 14 players but I make it 15.

Hilarious.

If your missus has been along for the ride for 20+ years I suppose she's just as experienced as yourself. ;)

He is a impressive talent though he needs to gain a lot of strength if he has to make it here.he looks like a lean 14 yr old kid at the moment.

Bardsley
Pique
Silvestre
Eckersley

Seems the one on the Dunfermline site was almost spot on. Eckersley coming in for Shawcross being the only difference.

So, we're playing 2 games at the same time, and VDS and Koozy are both going to the same one. Errrrrrr *scratching head*

Does anyone know where Pique usually played for Zaragoza last season? I know he's played in Neville's RB spot before, but for some reason I have him in my mind as a Centerback.

Hey Teso, how about a scouting report on Dunfermiline.

He mainly played in central defense but was also seen in midfield a few times.

Hey Teso, how about a scouting report on Dunfermiline.

Utter shit. The worst squad in the SPL for numerous season until they were finally relegated last season but somehow they do well in cups. A team full of slow, no-talent hacks but with just enough 'quality' upfront to scrape a few goals here or there. I cannot really say much else because I do not know who will be playing as it is a testimonial and have no idea about possible injuries. I'll try to give you some info when their manager arrives and bothers to tell us his team/squad.

Incidently, if our starting line-up that I posted is wrong then blame Mike Phelan.

What's wrong with Heaton/O'Shea combination in another one?
You do realize that the duo never actually allowed a single goal against them playing for the senior team?
:p

Of the two games, since this one is on setanta, I'll post here.

If these two squads were to face each other, who would win?

Dunfermiline

Van der Sar
Kuszczak
Brown
Bardsley
Pique
Silvestre
Eckersley
Hargreaves
Fletcher
Scholes
S Evans
Eikrem
Eagles
Giggs
Rooney

Glentoran

Heaton
Simpson
Vidic
Ferdinand
Evra
Lea
Carrick
O'Shea
Gibson
Martin
Nani
Anderson
Dong
Campbell

I'm thinking the Glentoran squad would beat the Dunfermiline squad, based on a solid defense, with the new boys in midfield, and The Donger up top.

Man, do we have a lot of players on both sides of the equation.
