Where is SKYSPORTS???

since Sunday FSC has not have Sky sports news at 6pm E. ?? anyone know what has happened???

I have spent about 2 hours trying to call Fox Soccer and no number no luck. What is going on with Sky Sports? Did you find out why its not on?

nothing yet... i have a couple of emails out there...if/when i get a reply i will post it here....

i had heard on another board..(nothing specific to sky sports though) that some of the highlight reels that were being used were the rights of another sportscaster.. i dont know if there is any truth to this... before they use to run a "property of espn" or whoever disclaimer... i wonder if setanta having BPL rights has anything to do with this? on another note.. i wonder if we will get Setanta Sports News?... which is being launched on the Virgin cable system in the UK.....

The rights issues are kind of confusing when it comes to SSN on FSC. Sky do not hold the rights to first-run highlights in the UK for the Premier League (BBC) or Football League (ITV) - so that's why we get a watered down version over here. Thing is, I think FSC do own the rights to highlights in the US and Canada (although I'm not sure it's even an issue) - so I can't imagine there being any rights restrictions for SSN over here. Unless the issue has to do with something like cricket...

I watch less and less of SSN since they lost the League highlights on Saturday nights - but I'd still like for FSC to keep the show. Great for County Cricket highlights http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/images/icons/icon7.gif

Yeah the Saturday SSN used to be excellent when they showed every goal from every
non-premiership match; now it's just a collection of cliched coach's comments....

I wonder if a US rights holder has complained about some of SSN's content? For example
the 7pm SSN in the past has aired PGA championship hilites before TNT's telecast has ended. Or perhaps HBO objects to them showing boxing clips.

Well I'm glad to see the last couple of posts but I recorded it today and got some low budget grass roots American soccer training program followed by a Prem pre-season spotlight-type show, both of which have been screened every bloodeh time they've bumped Sky Sports News for the last few days. Both those filler shows are awful.

This just after I congratulated (on my fan site) Fox Soccer Channel on carrying Sky Sports News and saying how in my experience it's one of the most popular among ex-Pats and locals alike.

In addition to all the reasons for watching SSN made by other posters, I really enjoy the lower league club features where the they interview staff, fans, players, and wander round the facility. I'd love to see a whole weekly hour's show on that kind of stuff.

And yes, I too miss the Football League goals from many of the grounds. I still go to the pub for Setanta; eventually I'll get it on-line but that's gonna have to wait a bit.

Bring back SSN -- to my area as well please.

It was definetley back tonight, I wonder if the redesign had anything to do with it. And they have that Requiem for a Dream music now, a bit lame when they're talking about golf practice or going to the cricket nets...

Yeah, it's a good soundtrack but not at all appropriate. I miss the mellow techno music, much better for a light-hearted sports show.

The new graphics are definitely better though.

A little bit of overkill with the music. Although they still have the headlines on the backpages on their laptops, I miss the old fashion way at the end of the show. Oh well at least it's back on.

Then why hasn't she been back?!? Millie Clode and Natalie Sawyer are perfectly acceptable, but this woman was gorgeous -- and not just by journalist standards. Has she been on any of the other shows (e.g., Football Today, Afternoon Report)?
