Dude, we're already playing Mexico in the Azteca that day. Brazil is more interested in playing Mexico, as it would be a good way to get their self-respect back. In fact, I dare say that Mexico and Brazil are developing a rivalry of sorts while we're left out in the cold.

Uhh, no. Once USSF announces a fixture it's on. I'm pretty sure you can even buy tickets for the match at ussoccer.com.

Ummmm. They beat Argentina's unquestioned A-team with their B-team to win the Copa. They are also the #1 team in the world according to the FIFA World Rankings.
If they are lacking self-respect, they've got emotional problems that won't be cured by beating Mexico at a neutral venue.

Will Mexico's clash with Brazil a couple of days after playing USMNT affect who they choose to field in the U.S. game? I'd hate for MEX to field a B team, those bastards!:(

No. On all accounts. First there is no need for Brasil to regain their 'self-respect'. They didn't do as well in the World Cup as preferred (curse them for not winning every one of them...), but they made the quarters with what was in hindsight, a team in disarray, and in Copa America only lost to a Mexico team that was pretty impressive. But... Brasil did win the tournament afterall and it was perhaps a C level team that they used. The players and fans have plenty of 'self-respect'. Personally it's sort of a waste for Brasil... the tragedy is that they don't schedule friendlies in Brasil (for a myriad of reasons), so also, why bother in Mexico? Nothing to do with quality of Mexico - they are good. But a shame CBF fans can't see their tema more often, except for the 9 games between 2006-2010 in qualifying.
And Mexico vs. USA is a rivalry. Argentina vs. Brasil is a rivalry. Mexico vs. Brasil isn't really a rivalry. They've gotten the better of Brasil in some matches lately... just as the USA has gotten the better of Mexico. But when it is on the line and in neutral ground, Brasil steps it up a few notches and will win the majority of the time, IMO.
USA vs. Brasil would be interesting. If Feilhaber playes, USA will at least get a draw or win, as does any team Brasil plays which has its expatriots on them (Germany, Mexico, Portugal, etc.)

The Question is: Why we allowed this to happend? Seems like the US makes stronger mexico with these friendlies, while, the US doesn't play Argentina or Brazil, mexico grows with the US help ( again and again ).
I am ok with Brazil playing mexico, if the US got to play against Brazil.

The mods might want to change the name of this thread to "Mexico v. Brasil on September 12 - Why not us?"
The question has already been asked and answered by a big fan of Mexico's NT ...

Playing Brazil would benefit the U.S. national team for sure but by having Mexico and Brazil play here U.S. Soccer also benefits. The federation gets a cut of the revenue generated from the match. Not sure of the percentages but when you figure a possible turnout of 40-50K with ticket prices starting at $30, that's a significant amount of money.

To SUM up, it's all about the money.
Here's a bonus question ...
What do US Soccer and Foxboro have in common?

I rather play Brazil, but if we play Mexico its still a really good games because its in Azteca. I havent read the article, but if we play Brazil where would it be?

These are all related, with September 9th being the focal point -- so I've merged them all, as it relates to Mexico or Brazil being the possible opponent for that date.

In summary, the article says the game has been canceled, due to a dispute between Univision and Telemundo over the game's Spanish-language broadcast rights. My guess would be that negotiations are ongoing and that the threat of cancellation is posturing, but the article says the game is definitely off - 100%.

Mexico makes the most sense - perhaps a day/night double-header - but I would vote for Europe.

I'd rather that the Fed send some money Kraft's way than to the Texans' owner. It really only came down to two choices, there or KC. And I would look at the NFL schedule, not to mention a map showing where Mexican-Americans live, before making your, at this point, boring accusations.
Remember the story of the boy who cried wolf.

Who's making accusations? I'm asking questions. But for the record, I'm dubious that there are/were only two choices, and even if that were true I would question Gulati's steering income into Kraft's pockets when another reasonable choice is/was available.
For the uninitiated ...

Here's a two-part question for the whole class: (1) Isn't Gulati now paid - a reported $250k - in his role as US Soccer President?; and (2) If so, shouldn't that position be boosted up to the "Employment" section?
Just asking ...

Really? KC hosting a game between Mexico and Brazil is a reasonable choice? What color is the sky in your world?
