Absolutely! Dina was right on it. I mentioned that I was coming with MLSPR and she processed the order with no trouble at all.

I'm in, so come on everybody we've got a section to fill out :D

We also have a charter bus to fill up. Don't miss out on MLSPR's first roadie:D

I don't see an option to edit anymore, so I'll just quote myself and risk looking dumb.

Is there a projected price point for the tour buses? Just wondering so I can keep that in mind when I'm budgeting this.

I made my room reservations via their website from the link on MLSPR. Smooth. Hope the rest of the roadie is as easy.

Now where's the yellow hair dye?

I hope we can get a good crowd, even though it's on a school night. Maybe we could talk the camerapeople into showing our group many times throughout the night so that Wynalda has to try and figure out that it's the Arizona flag that is being waved.

Charter Bus Canceled

Because most of the MLS Phoenix Rising members traveling to Los Angeles for the Chivas USA vs. DC United match on September 6 have decided to drive themselves and make a long weekend of it, we have decided to cancel the charter bus. Any payments received for the bus will be refunded immediately. We will try to make arrangements for any road-trippers in need of transportation from the Phoenix area to the game to ride with other members who are driving.

The first MLS Phoenix Rising road trip is shaping up to be a very exciting event!

The game on Thursday night has important implications for both DC United and Chivas USA in their pursuit of the Supporters' Shield (best record in MLS). DC United is 6 points ahead of Chivas USA but has played two more games. DC United goes into the game leading the East and Chivas USA is in second place in the West -- only 3 points behind Houston (with 4 games in hand). DC United has not lost a league game since July 22 and Chivas USA is undefeated (with only one draw) at home this season. It should be a great, hard-fought match between two teams who may meet again in the MLS Cup -- PLUS we have a chance to get some TV exposure for MLS Phoenix Rising and our quest for an MLS team in Phoenix.

Thanks to everyone who helped put the road trip together and to everyone who is heading out to LA for the game. We should have very good representation in our section!

If anyone decides at the last minute to join us, just ask for tickets in the front of Section 136.

I saw you guys for 0.5 seconds right after the second DC goal. Did you guys have a sign or anything that said "Bring MLS to Phoenix." It would have been a good game for it considering you gus made up half of the attendance last night. maybe MLS Phoenix Rising with the Lord of the Rings logo is too complex. Maybe MLS IN PHOENIX or something more direct would work better. JMHO. The yellow shirts with the logo didnt stand out much for the 0.5 seconds. I know back in the day, there were BASEBALL IN DC banners all over RFK. Just seems that the message could be sent in a more clear, loud way.

Thanks for the feed back. I just returned from LA and the roadtrip. I haven't seen the game yet, but I'll look at it later. As usual things on TV for a split second don't reflect the reality. We were noticed by all who were there. The Chivas fans were welcoming friendly and actually cheered for us. They noticed our signs and our gold shirts drew alot of attention.

We sat with the DC supporters and they were also very supportive and encouraged our group. Personally and professionally the Chivas USA staff was top shelf. Special mention to Dina Fuentes who handled the ticket purchases for our group.

I had a great experience. I met one of my favorite players Carlos LLmosa, and he was exactly as discribed, a friendly warm person off the field. Considering that he was a hard nose tough defender.

I just cannot tell you how well the Chivas officials and fans treated our group. Other than hanging out with my friends at RFK my experience at Home Depot was one of my best football experiences.

Believe me the message that we want Major League Soccer in Phoenix was SEEN and HEARD by MLS – although for reasons completely beyond our control it may not have been seen very clearly by ESPN2 viewers. We brought two banners into the Home Depot Center that we intended to hang in front of our section. Unfortunately, because there was advertising in front of the section that we were not permitted to cover, we could only hang a single banner and it was a little off to the side of the section. (The Home Depot Center has strict rules about banner size, content, and where they can be placed.) Members of our group also brought two large Arizona flags and a City of Phoenix flag that we waved proudly. We were informed at the conclusion of the match that ESPN had prohibited any specific attention to or mention of our group during the broadcast. I do not know the reason for this decision.

Anyway, despite our inability to become TV stars this time around, we had a very positive and productive experience. We received fantastic treatment from Chivas USA staff and officials and had an opportunity to discuss our group and its mission with team officials from both Chivas USA and DC United. Several fans in the stands asked about our t-shirts and the Chivas USA supporters group in the next section over even greeted us with a "Welcome Phoenix" chant and came over after the match to extend an invitation to come back at any time because, "mi casa es su casa."

While it would have been nice to get some national TV time, MLS Phoenix Rising had a presence at the HDC and the people who needed to notice us did so. I think all the road trippers had a good time (I know I did!) and enjoyed the four-goal match. We will have photos of the road trip on the web site soon.

I hope that you can join us for the next road trip and help us get our message out.

Hey Noodles, I can see you & I in our .5 sec spotlight. But that's it, no other close ups. Our shirts did stand out, but never do see the banners or flags.

I'm gonna say that we've got a great first road trip under our belt. Next one should be bigger & better. First action item should be to leverage the TV producer to get us in the storyline for the match.
