We could be playing the likes of Kobe and Lebron in the 2008 Olympics.
Who cares about football these days with all the success in V-Ball and B-Ball!?

There was a lot of talk about it in the Asia NSR.
Iranian volleyball has achieved more so far, but b-ball is coming alond nicely.
PS there is a lot of talk of Ha from South Korea and Haddadi from Iran to be moving to NBA in the future!
Also, I didn't know this but Iranian clubs are doing pretty damn well too:

Not that it matters to anyone other than me:rolleyes:...but I used to play ball with Aydeen and Samad all the time.
Samad was a brat but Aydeen was a real nice guy...They weren't that great back then(Aydeen was a head and shoulder above Samad) but they always knew this is what they wanted and they really went after it.
I went to Sadr Highschool in Za'feraanyeh (Tajrish area).

Who is Aydeen and who is Samad? I don't see their names on the roster.

Aidin and Samad Nik-khah Bahrami(the two brothers on our team)....Samad's name in his birth certificate is Mohammad Samad so he is listed as Mohammad.
Hadadi was great yesterday but Samad's defense on ElKhatib won us this game.
Hadadi is not NBA material btw.

Wow! They're brothers!! Nice.
I agree, that while Haddadi got most of the credit, Samad was overall more crucial in the win.
They're all famous in Iran for a while at least. More so if they keep this up, especially in the Olympics. They're both pretty damn young too!
PS I vaguely know someone related to them!! Not sure what relation; might be their father/uncle...

Having watched the highlights, what Haddadi did wasn't just score 31 points and 10 rebounds; he destroyed Vogel. Vogel was supposed to mark him and to be marked by one of Lebanon's top two players who is much more experienced than him and still score 31 is something amazing!

How tall in Feet and inches is he?
The 218cm center, who top scored the game with 31 points, was the tallest player on court final, apart from in the literal sense. And deservingly, the Paykan Tehran player also sealed the issue in his favor triggering roars of celebration among his bench as well as the bunch of fans who had traveled all the way across the continent.
Mani provided this link to me in another thread where I asked if this player was heading to the NBA. Is he a center or a power forward? It is apparent he can shoot well, how is his Defense? Just curious, not trolling or anything like that.

I follow the NBA religiously...I am not going to judge his talent based on just the one game I watched (the final), but based on what I saw, he was poor in positioning(his footwork specially) and his release (not fast enough). He would also have a very hard time guarding NBA type centers because of his light weight. He could get pushed around like a fly and there is not much he can do about that other than putting on some serious weight.
Overall, I think he can be a dominant force in Asia(as long as we don't face Yao) but I don't think he can even pass the physical test for the NBA.
Having said all that, our team's success in the Asian level could attract more and more young talent to this relatively popular international game. And as a result we could see more success on the international level (hopefully some NBA level ballers in future).
What I am about to say is kind of foolish so close your eyes and ignore this next line or two. You could compare this team's success to that of the TM in 1996 in the Asian cup. That relative success brought life to Iranian soccer and I am thinking this cup could have similar effects (I said close your eyes you dirty bastaaaards!lol!).
Here is hoping.....
PS: he plays the 5(center).

If I recall correctly he did play against Yao before (not in this comp) and that was Yao's only game (in that comp) where he didnt score close to 30 points.
Again, him being NBA material is rather doubtful due to the same reasons mentioned above.
