Does anybody know if Heinze arrived, as instructed, for training today? SAF says he was told to be there, so was he? Photos?

This is such a weird saga. Heinze has personally conducted himself relatively well - EXCEPT that he's asking to go to Liverpool. He's praised the manager in the press, showed up today without any tantrums, etc.
I really wish I could understand his choice to go there. He would be in a mix of LBs just like he is here, except here he'd have a shot at winning something.

I bet he must have been nervous as it is a bit like going to the head teacher knowing that you are about to be caned.
I wish he would just get on with it and work for his place because it is unlikely that Evra will remain fit throughout the whole season.

Good on him. I hope he stays, but I think it's probable that he's going.

yes so far he hasnt pulled a Gallas but id rather him not want to join liverpool
as for Silvestre who would naturally be next in line dont know how many know about this but
Ashfin@Rossoneri: Hey, who do you think will win the Champions League final next week?
Mikaël Silvestre: I hope it will be Milan! I have a problem because my friend, who supports Inter, doesn't want Milan to win, and I dont want Liverpool to win. So that will be interesting...

I always knew Silvestre was a player to keep around. The only decent thing he ever did was head butt everyones favorite Calvin Klein model Freddie Ljungberg.

Heinze tells Fergie: I still want to quit Old Trafford for Anfield
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=473655&in_page_id=1779
Contract rebel Gabriel Heinze last night upped the ante in his row with Manchester United by telling Sir Alex Ferguson to his face that he wants to move to Liverpool.
Defender Heinze returned to training with United as planned yesterday and headed straight for a meeting with manager Ferguson to thrash out his future.
Heinze said: "I've spoken with the coach and I have insisted that my wish is to leave the club if a big offer appears on the table.
"Today the only such offer is from Liverpool and it is this that is causing the problem. Earlier in the summer I received a promise from United that I could leave if the deal was good for both parties and at the moment there is an offer from Liverpool.
"The coach is serious about this and I understand his view. But I am serious, too. My lawyers are studying the situation and I'm going to wait for a few days now to get a full report from them."
Heinze - who last season lost his left-back berth to Patrice Evra - has two years left on his contract but was told in a letter from chief executive David Gill at the start of the summer that he could leave if an offer of £6.5million was received.
The only offer subsequently made has been from Liverpool and Heinze's representatives are trying to force the club's hand because the letter did not state that bids from Premier League rivals would not be considered.
"All I want now is a swift solution to this saga," said Heinze, who was given extra time off by Ferguson after his participation in the Copa America with his country. "I've fulfilled my duties by returning for training and I will now carry on behaving like a professional. I will keep on coming to training and will see what happens. I have a muscle injury in my leg but it is only minor and will not keep me out for long.
"People keep saying that there's an offer for me from Juventus but I know nothing about it. Liverpool is the only offer so far.
"I don't want to spend time at the club just waiting and not playing as I don't think that is in the best interests of the club or myself."

I think the gist of that is that he wants to move on and won't stand to be 2nd choice. He would have gone to another big club not Liverpool but no one has put in an offer for him. Since to him, anywhere is better than here, he'll take that jump to Liverpool.
In my eyes, that is worse than the original assumption that he just wanted to go to Liverpool. Anywhere but here.

The signs were there from the beginning, though. The way that he risked all to shirt up for Argentina. It was on more than one occasion that he put us to the side, despite being too injured for us, to play for Argentina. That is why he missed so much time last season.

It's very true. He was always a gritty player and I loved him for that. I couldn't stand his ridiculous elbowing, and that just showed me he's an animal, a man without class who willingly cheats. The Argentina loyalty was another step in that direction and as much as I hate to bring it up, the summer incident against Germany only strengthens my case. He's a prick.
