Hello all City fans. I'm an admirer of your recent signings and would like to see who guys feel will be in the starting 11. You have brought in some terrififc talent who are still eager to prove themselves on the highest level. Most people in England dislike Sven Goran Eriksson over his England tenure, but I feel he got what he could out of that team. It's not his fault he had the team train penalties and they still couldn't make it in the quarterfinal. Overall he is a very good manager and I feel you guys will be successful.

And one other thing; I've seen a couple of City supporters around in Los Angeles and each of them seem really die hard for their team. It's seems like they would die for the claret blue. I'm glad this takeover happened for you guys. It couldn't have happened to a better club in England...

The Manchester City Squad:

Goalkeepers

1 Andreas Isaksson
25 Joe Hart
19 Kasper Schmeichel

Defenders

2 Micah Richards
3 Michael Ball
4 Nedum Onuoha
22 Richard Dunne
18 Danny Mills
26 Matthew Mills
17 Jihai Sun
Vedran Corulka
Javier Garrido

Midfielders

5 Ousmane Dabo
28 Gelson Fernandes
21 Dietmar Hamann
6 Michael Johnson
8 Geovanni
7 Stephan Ireland
15 Martin Petrov
27 Ishmael Miller
Elano Blumer

Strikers

10 Rolando Bianchi
30 Bernando Corradi
9 Emile Mpenza
20 Georgios Samaras
11 Darius Vassell
14 Paul Dickov
36 Daniel Sturridge
Valeri Bojinov

My Preferred Starting 11

-------------------------Andreas Isaksson-----------------------
Micah Richards---Nedum Onuoha---Richard Dunne---Vedran Corulka
-----------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------Gelson Fernandes------------------------
-----------Elano Blumer--------------------Martin Petrov----------
-----------------------------Geovanni----------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------Rolando Bianchi-----------Emile Mpenza-------------

I prefer speed over power so you can understand my partnership pairing. I really do think Mpenza will shine even more this season after his January transfer. The midfield is obviously all new, but Stephan Ireland might have something to say about that. His rise from the City academy saw him establish a starting eleven spot last season, so it will be really difficult to see what system Sven Goran Eriksson will use. I can see Petrov and Elano having more central roles, and then making the play wider and wider until they sometimes are wingers, and at other points are defensive right and left midfielders respecively. I see Gelson Fernandes as the ball winner, but Ousmane Dabo and maybe Dietmar Hamann could swap places there.

I think also the defense has massively improved. You retain your two England internationals in Richards and Onuoha, while adding Vedran Corulka, who in my opinion is a great Croatian defender from Dinamo Zagreb. Richard Dunne also stays, and the backups are all in place with Mills, Jihai, Garrido, and Ball. Goalkeeper wise I don't think there is a better team in the Premiership. The only team that can challenge you in goalkeeper depth is possibly your biggest rivals as they also have 3 internationals in their ranks. But Andreas Isaksson will be great, Joe Hart will be your No. 1 in the future, and Kasper Schmeichel just made his debut, and his future also looks bright.

Who knows, however, with all the different players many formations could suffice. What do you guys think? And who would you love to see in the 11 on opening day?

Cheers,

I would be happy with that I wouldn't mind seeing

------------------------Isakasson------------------------
-----Richards----- Dunne ------ Corluka------Garrido
---------------Johnson---------Fernandes------------
--------Elano-------------------------------Petrov--------
----------------Bianchi---------Bojinov----------

There's actually lots of different combinations i'm sure Sven will find the right one

I thought Onuoha was pretty highly rated at City. He is an Under 21 international after all... as is Garrido for Spain.

Oh he is but my line-up is my opinion, Onuoha will get plenty of chances to play and is a future key player for us granted he stays here. I just think Garrido is better suited on the wing so just switch around with the CB's Dunne--Onuoha ,Corluka--Dunne , Corluka--Onouha. It's gonna be different throughout the season until we find the right match anyway.

Well you guys now have to fit Mark Bresciano into the 1st team somewhere. He's a good attacking mid who can play either wing or behind the strikers. I'm not sure what SGE has in mind for him, but I hope he fits in well.

We've got a thread (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=504005) on him in the Australian forums, maybe some of the regs could give updates on what you think of him there. Cheers.

But so do Elano & Petrov.

I think he could be the AM alternating with Stephen Ireland/Geovanni.

As it stands at the moment I'd play this side:
------------------------------------------
Isaksson

Richards Dunne Corluka Ball

Elano Geovanni Johnson Petrov

Bojinov/Mpenza Bianchi

-------------------------------------------
Might have to swap Geovanni and Elano around, Bresciano would fill in at any vacant position I guess or take Geovanni's place. It'll be interesting to see what formations we use this season.

It seems like we have quite a plethora of Wingers and AM's for once, although they all seem to be on the Right side of the pitch.

Bresciano, Geovanni, Elano, Ireland... We might be playing with an Off striker at times to fit some of these in.

I would prefer

Bojinov - Bianchi

Petrov - Fernandes(Benfica)/Michael Johnson - Elano - Bresciano

Garrido - Dunne - Richards - Corluka

Scott Carson?
