A couple of interesting notes.
1. Steaua Bucuresti probably has the easiest draw out of all the clubs, even though they finished 2nd in the Romanian Championship.
2. Spartak Moscow and Celtic FC has been labeled as a "tough" match up by Gordon Strachan. I agree, I have Spartak going through.
3. Werder Bremen meet an interesting Dinamo Zagreb side who have just signed Bosko Balaban from Club Brugge SV.
4. FC Red Bull Salzburg and Shakhtar Dontesk will most likely meet in the battle of the richest clubs of Eastern and Central Europe.
5. AFC Ajax face a stern test against Slavia Prague.
6. FK Sarjevo has a decent chance of advancing into the Champions League proper after drawing Dynamo Kyiv.
7. Two Champions League regulars in Fenerbahce and Anderlecht draw horns in probably one of the toughest match up's of the draw.
8. Toulouse, on their Champions League debut draw the tough English, semi Spanish Liverpool side.
9. S.S. Lazio face a grave test against Romanian Champions Dinamo Bucuresti. Lazio better get their act together or they will be on the receiving end of a loss.
10. Benfica and Kobenhavn lock horns which will see a really difficult CL tie for both.
11. Arsenal cannot underestimate Czech champions Sparta Prague. Tomas Rosicky will want to show his former club that his moved to better pastures.
12. Swiss Champions FC Zurich have a good chance of progressing after they will most likely play Besiktas of Turkey. A Swiss club has not been in the CL since Basel and FC Thun of two years ago.
13. Ferrer, the former coach of Real Betis and new coach of AEK Athens will face his former arch-rival Sevilla coached by Juande Ramos.

Let me get this straight, you're calling last year's Champions League finalists weak, despite the fact they've only improved since then?

Of course Liverpool will win. I don't know how good Liverpool is now at the beginning of the season. But Toulouse won't pass. Not because they have a bad team, but because they are unexperienced in CL.
Regarding last year: Well.....I guess it is not very hard to underestimate a team like Maccabi Haifa. ;)

Toulouse better be good after all the hype that has been poured on them by all these "experts".

Yes I doubt they will beat Liverpool, but there is a good chance. Toulouse are a decent side with a couple of quality players such as Emana and Elmander.
As for the Lazio-Dinamo Bucuresti game....
I was being serious about that one. Lazio has looked fairly poor in pre-season, and Dinamo were great the last 2 seasons. Plus playing in Eastern Europe is always tough, just ask Everton.
I think Dinamo Bucuresti will cause a minor upset, but now that I've said it I don't think it will be that major.

A lot of work to do still. Lazio are in their pre-season. In two weeks they should be better.
