I saw the games between Wilstermann and Audax, and Real Potosi vs. Colo Colo. I am surprised not to see the Chilean National team do better in international competition, given the quality of its professionasl teams. Audax played very efficiently against Wilstermann, who tried its best, but it was simply not at the same level (and this coming from a huge Wilstermanista).
Real Potosi is another story...they simply play awful and have players who would not be playing professionally anywhere else (Correa, Paz, Aguilera, etc.). Colo Colo was much better, high altitude and all.

Our soccer seems to be going backwards, boys. My hats off to Colo Colo and Audax. What a difference a serious league, good organization and dedicated players makes.

My two cents.

Well the guy of the match in the Audax vs Wilstermann match was Villanueva...and he played Copa America against Ecuador were he scored a beautifull freekick that gave us an unlikely victory. Villanueva is a good option for Chile's NT although he will probably be bench when Mati Fernandez gets his game back.

The reason we do poor in International Competition is our poor defending that is on par with caribean football.
